I've never play RTS but the controls are so straightforward and simple, I didn't do the tutorial or anything I just jumped right into a mission and figured it out myself, its so satisfying when you can call a unit to do something and leave it alone and you know a task is being completed.

I guess I'm going to add another game to my holiday list.

the game is shallow.

Just because a game is accessible doesn't mean its shallow.

I think RTS shouldn't be just put in and play, they should require a little tutorial

No it doesn't.

But if your saying that someone who has never played an RTS game could just jump in and play something like DoW2 or even Homeworld, then you are wrong.

First time i played an FPS I was terrible. A game that I was good atinstantlywilllack depth.

That may be true in this case, but in most genres, being able to pick up and play is a good thing.

I'm not saying that. I'm just saying that, for most genres (RTS excluded), being accessible is a good thing.

He just made it sound like if a game is accessible, it automatically makes it shallow.

RTS games thrive off of being slightly more complicated, to get as much tacticalvariation in as they can. Something like Endwar will be a good introduction to the Genre, people who enjoy this might the pick up Red Alert 3 in November, or Halo Wars next year.

I'm not saying I was a master, all I'm saying is I was able to call out units and attack, I didn't go into the knooks and cranies all I did was use overwhelming force to win (against the CPU).

Ok. lets just get this straight.

For a CONSOLE, this is an amazing RTS game, ive dl'ed the XBL demo, and i must say that this is the most fun/accessable/non-cumbersom Console RTS game on the market (when it is on the market)

Needless to say, PC RTS's will be far better, and there no use in stating the obvious in every thread geared towards one game because you find it shallow/boring. Now ill be picking up this game and SC2, but im going to guess SC2 will take up most of my time, but endwar is FINALLY a break in the Console RTS market, and its nice to seem some progression IMO.
