Hm, well I certainly disagree, lol.
Console's will always have there place, as long as Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft provide an incentive to pick up their machines.
Consoles always have their place? Console hardware and software sales are worst since 6 years. Sony and MS are even testing the waters in mobile gaming. The writing is on the wall.Hm, well I certainly disagree, lol.

I could see that. Publishers go where the cheapest profits are to be found, and if they can get a greater rate of return out of mobile gaming, then there's no real reason for them to try to keep me as a customer. It sucks, but there's not much I can do about it.lowe0Nintendo pointed this out at GDC last year.

One month of poor sales isn't really an indicator that consoles are on their way out.
Year into a generation with the market almost saturated with the current systems isn't a good time to discuss sales. And PC gaming is still quite strong. There's a place in the market for all these aspects of gaming.
Mobile gaming is growing, but it taps into newly created group of smartphone users rather than cannibalizing sales from core gamers and such.
Here's the issue: There are way too many games and accompanying consoles. The market is oversaturated with games, and how many can you buy?
i think it's possible. one day when tablets and mobile devices have the same power as a console, it would put it ahead of consoles because of mobility. all it needs is a bluetooth wireless gamepad connect to a super power ipad with graphic as good as crysis. imagine the potentials. Some very interesting points here in this article.

I've learned how everybody here hates Apple, but regardless, they did set the stage for this, since mobile gaming seems to be going to more unified platforms like iOS and Android(which GS hails as God of mobile).
And I'm still getting Apple products, haters gonna hate.
They're saying PC games consumed more shelf space than console games in the Ninties. Well at least part of that was because PC games came in huge boxes back then:
[QUOTE="PernicioEnigma"]Consoles replaced PC gaming? What the ****?JordanizProIt basically did.Consoles are the norm now.Nobody really plays PC besides the super hardcore gaming nerds :/ You might want to learn a thung or two on PC gaming

Damn near every gamer I've known has been a PS3 or 360 fanboy, save for the kids that like the Wii.
Weird, my PC seems to have replaced my consoles. I have a thing for quality though, maybe that's why.
Grawse
My PS3 plays Blu-Rays, haven't touched a game in a while though.

i think it depends on who your friends are and who you socialize with. most of my friends are intellectuals and work in fields that are tech based...most of my friends are pc gamers. now my other friends, who i wouldnt say are the brightest crayons in a box, playing nothing but consoles, think cod is the greatest game ever made, and think that the fact that im into pc gaming is "weird". when i tell them that pc is graphically superior they think im lying or just being a fanboy. some drool and ask me what it takes to have a rig when they see what a rig is capable of.
also another thing ive noticed, depends on your age. i dont know alot of young kids who pc game, probably because they dont have the means to build or purchase parts for a rig. i have i think 1 individual on my steam list who is 15 years old and hes quite the smart little kid.

Well... mobile hasn't replace my console and console hasn't replaced my PC... now what?
The only time I play with my mobile is when I'm in the bus or metro...

How did console replace PC? God good, the PC is still the platforme with most high rated exclusive.

i bet if you go outside and ask people what system they game on none of them will say PC.Consoles dominate now.Iv never ever met a PC gamer before nor have i ever been in GameStop and see anyone purchase a PC game lol that alone speaks volumes. The only people who still play PC are hardcore game nerds (which arnt many compared to the console market) How does what you said speak volumes? It holds as much weight as my statement about my friends (who aren't nerds) play games on PC. Both our personal experiences don't say much about the majority.[QUOTE="JordanizPro"][QUOTE="Bebi_vegeta"]i bet if you go outside and ask people what system they game on none of them will say PC.Consoles dominate now.Iv never ever met a PC gamer before nor have i ever been in GameStop and see anyone purchase a PC game lol that alone speaks volumes. The only people who still play PC are hardcore game nerds (which arnt many compared to the console market) How does what you said speak volumes? Why don't you go at steam store and ask if they have console games?
3 console vs 1 PC, PC has it's own crowd of gamers... or else why are there more high rated exclusive game if the platforme is dead?

Why do you think developers are moving there games toconsoles like Crytek did with Crysis 2?Because nobody plays PC The first crysis sold over 3 million copies, it sold very well. WoW has over 10 million people subscribing to it. BC2 has more activity than on consoles. Lots of people still game on the PC. They are moving because they can make more money with more systems because of a wider audience, there is also a big indy scene on the PC.[QUOTE="soulitane"][QUOTE="JordanizPro"] i bet if you go outside and ask people what system they game on none of them will say PC.Consoles dominate now.Iv never ever met a PC gamer before nor have i ever been in GameStop and see anyone purchase a PC game lol that alone speaks volumes. The only people who still play PC are hardcore game nerds (which arnt many compared to the console market)JordanizPro

Crysis 2 is still on PC... if you haven't notice, more and more games are going multiplate and less exclusive... Consoles don't have a bunch of exclusives.

How so ??
[QUOTE="PernicioEnigma"]Consoles replaced PC gaming? What the ****?JordanizProIt basically did.Consoles are the norm now.Nobody really plays PC besides the super hardcore gaming nerds :/ A few things, one you are on a gaming forum calling other gamers nerds, which for one speaks volumes about you. The second thing, I am in University (a good one too) and a lot of the people I meet who do play video games do game on the PC. Hell one of my room mates does. Actually a lot of the people who still play videogames enjoy them on both PC's and consoles. A lot of my bro's in my fraternity play both console games and PC games. And hey, they, the PC guys are also in a fraternity and certainly are not nerds so way to generalize there. Hell I game on the PC and I would not consider myself a nerd (although I do have a soft spot for tech and for sci-fi). Anyway yeah unfounded statements on your part ftw.
There is too much generalizations and misconceptions of both PC and home console gamers here. And using anecdotal evidence is not a good argument.
