The review says that the platforming and the combat are sub par. Those are, like, the two main aspects of the game. Seems as if it scored high considering that.
Good score. But playing the demo there were definitely flaws, particularly in platforming (too much hand-holding.) I want to play this eventually but it's not a Buy at the moment I don't think.
▲ Heavenly Sword also got an 8.0. How unimpressive. They arent able to make a game better than that. Can't believe these guys are making a Devil May Cry game. ▲
it seems like u would only want to play it through once...looks good...but it looks like they didnt even bother to try and improve the combat system...i fear the worst for all dmc fans.... ninja theory seems to be all about presentation/cinematics.
Good score but still seems like a rent to me. I found the demo to be uninspiring. I rather get LOS even though that was a flop and this wasn't. I don't just buy games due to another person's opinion.
This game is going to be such a breath of fresh air. The best part about it for me other than the story and cinematic experience is the fact that it is not another first person shooter. Enslaved is going to offer up a much needed change of pace.

Does anyone really play through games again unless it's one of their favorite games/it's an open-ended RPG/they want more achievements?
I'd never be able to make it through most single-player games twice unless it's been years since I finished the first time. So the whole concept of "replay value" applying to every game kind of confuses me.
Seems the same gameplay problems present in the demo are in the final game, but the presentation is so high-quality it got an 8 anyway. Flash over substance. ¬_¬

That seems to be the theme of this generation sadly.
My concern is the length of the game. It appears to not be much longer than Heavenly Sword. I loved Heavenly Sword gameplay, so that didnt matter to me. The Enslaved Demo didnt show me enough to get that same feeling. I will definitely be getting this game, but I might wait for a price drop.
With the many games scoring 7.5 and 8's these days it sure is average.
Not really it just shows theres alot of good and great games out there. I mean would you rather constally like to see 4 and 5. Im still getting LOS over this for now. Though ill ask for this on xmas.

I've completed Half Life 2 about 10 times, but I know what you mean. That's only because it's my fav game of all time.

Pretty much. It's the reason I'll be getting this cheap and buying Lords of Shadow.
I really liked the demo, but will probably only rent or wait until its cheap. I think this is one more step towards getting away from the swarm of shooters.
Have this pre-ordered, but probably won't get it now. It's not that the score was low... I rarely base purchases off of scores. It's that the combat in the demo was ridiculously shallow, and from the sound of it, it never really gets the same sort of depth that Heavenly Sword threw right at you from the get go. And I know I'm in the minority here, but I hate the platforming in Uncharted, and don't want to see games like Enslaved and Castlevania try to borrow that linear formula for their games.

In this case I'd rather have flash over substance. I'd love for a game to have both equally though.
