Nintendo won their first two, NES and SNES and Wii Sony won their first two, PS1 and PS2 Microsoft came 2nd and 3rd on their first 2 generations. Even with a year head start and billions in the bank, they still come dead last this gen. And 3rd generation doesn't start too good for them ...and now they're acting all arrogant, so what's up with that?

Microsoft doesn't have Japan, that's the only reason really. They are still in 2nd this generation until Sony or Microsoft confirms otherwise. Microsoft won more important things this generation. Market shares, software sales (equals profits), more games released then PS3 and a better online service. Sony lost like $10 billion on the PS3 and still haven't dug themselves out of that whole yet.

The cows didn't catch many breaks this generation at all. Played catch up the whole generation and still lost overall in the end. Poor cows. Maybe you can lone Sony a billion to help get them out of debt. Kissing their @$$ won't pay the bills. lol!!

Arsenal football club don't win a thing but they profit and run their club like a business. I honestly loved the original xbox and it was superior to the ps2 in many ways and it along with the ps2 were must own consoles.

Not when you stop getting Sony consoles to bumlick because they cant pull a profit. I will not be purchasing a ps4 for 1 to 2 years into its cycle for this exact reason. Sony are selling areas of the business left right and centre. They may leave the console market if this console doesnt sell some serious units...and at a profit unlike the PS3 lol.

Sounds like SEGA after the Genesis/MegaDrive. Never finished in first place (although preferred over it's competition in North America/Europe), but when their third console (I don't think SG-1000 counts because it wasn't released in other major parts of the world outside of Japan) comes up, they make mistakes that bites them in the ass hard.

if you had any brain capacity close to that of a human being outside this board profit is essentially winning. MS has a profitable buisness plan and product, that to them seems like a solid plan to stick with and to gain money, whats the point in silly buisness strategy when the current one you run is fine.Same will be applied to Sony or MS. Oh yeah heres a fun fact, those profits = money which tends to be put into further developement of the product line in this case games and MS has been making them sure they dont appeal to people on this board because of the idiocy and scorn towards kinect and games aimed at a different audience but they still exist and seem to be offering a fairly decent revenue stream.

"But teh profits" literally means that MS strip mined your wallet despite delivering a lower quality product. Not quite sure that is a battlecry you want. Profit is what happens when the price paid for something is higher than its material value.

Lemmings, the only faction on this board lecturing us about economics while literally being used as a kleenex by the company they champion. Go fig.
