Grasping for straws. These guys are forgetting it's on 360 as well, plus just coz Epic said this, doesn't make Gears any less awesome. Besides, Unreal Tournament is Epic's flagship title.

That's because John Matrix is a man's man. He just shoots from the hip while standing in the wide open, and manages to kill everyone without getting hit at all. That's what I'm talking about. :wink:

Actually I didn't particularly meant gears. I also meant other games like halo and rainbow six vegas. Cover is essential in practically any fps for tactics use. Cover button or not. Â
Cover has always been a part of every FPS ever made. You just don't slam your back into it and then stick your head around the corner in every one. I don't know what's lamer. This quote lighting up gaming forums or the quote itself.

Umm, WTF are you talking about? :? The cover system in Gears makes it very much tactical.
Edit: To support my point; if you play Gears online, watch how one person alive from a team defeats all 4 players in the other by himself by out-maneuvering them with taking cover and being tactical.

there are 100x more tactics in a game like counterstrike. gears of war is something that hasnt been done before but its not as great as people make it out to be. unreal 2007 will be its killer along with 7-8 other games coming out

The mag's main article is a preview of UTIII, which is of course renowned for it's fast paced fire-fights and all the baggage that goes with it. So there you have it. As for the topic creators ever eloquent proclamation of ownage, I feel that's denied for obvious reasons. As for everybody who was freaking out and brought the troops into this; chill out. No need to bring real soldiers into the fight because somebody on a forum criticized your game.
