Disney Epic Mickey gets a 2/5 from Ryan Davis.

So it looks like the controls are pretty bad.

This is quite a departure from all the other reviews, which have been around the 80s. This averages to 40%.

I heard the game has good graphics and style, but bad controls and a bad camera... 2/5 that sounds correct in my book.

i just wanted to point out that xplay gave this a 5/5 (dkcr and k:ey got 4/5) and nominated it for GOTY as well as a slew of other awards while omitting SMG2 from every single award.

Its hard for me now to trust thier opinion now after giving goty to fable 2.

Epic Flop Mickey is Epic Flop

I cant stand videogame journalists sometimes.. They over criticise games that have some hype to them like epic mickey, but when the big blockbuster franchises come along the just hand them all 5 stars regardless of how much they suck.

I remember Warren Spector saying he doesn't care if everybody hates Epic Mickey he's just glad to be making it. I'd much rather have him working on Deus Ex 3, even if it was in some limited consultant capacity, than work on a currently wii exclusive game that from all reports is a pretty big disappointment. Still time for him to come in on Deus Ex 4 maybe.nutcrackr

It does not deserve a 2. You cant just flat out ignore everything the game does so well and say it sucks just because of a stupid camera problem.

a 2 equals something like a 4-5 on a 10 scale. and its not just a stupid camera problem if you had actually read the review you would know they have more of a problem with other things then the camera As well the camera on a game like this means every thing if you dont have a working camera on a game like this then your game pretty much sucks a broken camera means missed jumps, missed enemies, and all around hard time getting around.

Seems i will still own only Zelda TP for my Wii, and this will go on until Zelda SS

Wii is my first 2 game console ever, way to go Nintendo !!!

I will just forget Nintendo systems even exist until Wii 25, and then get all Zeldas i have misses on one system, than buy Nintendo consoles like GC and Wii with 2-3 games i want to play each

I can't say I'm surprised, when I first saw Epic Mickey it looked awesome. The weird style of the art was super cool, and the concept sounded awesome, but when I started seeing videos where I work, I knew it was going to flop big time.

I'm surprised it got some of the scores it did though. Glad I didn't buy it.

Personally I think most of the other reviews have scored the game way too high.

What is strange is that with virtually every single one of those other reviews they have scored the Gameplay lower than all other parts of the game, the gameplay is the thing I consider the most important aspect of any game bar none, and yet the final mark they give is pretty much always a couple of points above the gameplay score.

To me that just doesn't add up because no matter how good the presentation or story is in a game surely the gameplay should be the most important aspect by a long way.

GiantBomb is probably the only website giving the gameplay the importance and priority it deserves and they have simply scored the game accordingly.

I've played the first hour or so of the game and I thought it was pretty rubbish with average controls, a terrible camera, uninspired level and puzzles designs, and just completely generic and dull gameplay.

I wonder what flopped harder: GT5 or Epic Mickey? GT5 had more hype, but at least that game is playable for the most part. :lol:

Yea listening to the podcast, he was like "its just not a good game". Wow. I want to try this game but a 2/5 is scary for something so hyped.
