Epic Games just sued Silicon Knight for stealing their UE3 engine and trying to make it their own.
If Epic wins, Silicon Knight will have to scrap all the code for Too Human.
Another Exclusive lost for Lemmings, Whats left for Xbox360 in 2008? EpicChampion2k7
I think they removed the UE3.0 waaaay back when this was just rumors.
Kiddies, firstly even if Epic had a shot of this, they would want $$$... how much money does a company have that has been trying to produce one game over the last 4 years. If anything, Too Human must release just so epic and reap a portion of the profits. epic is to blame though so no worries.
[QUOTE="proud722"]Huh? So what happened to Silicon knights sueing epic?7thSIN
SK is still suing Epic, but now Epic is trying to counter Sue. Not certain, but im pretty sure the court/judge has the option to throw it out.
interesting thanks for letting me know, but if it did get thrown out does'nt that mean SK is screwed because they could'nt release too human anyway because of the state its currently in?

epic counter sued
There have been some developers who spoke out regarding development issues with Epic's Unreal Engine 3. Sony even admitted their concerns by sending in their own engineers to get the UE3 working on their "timed exclusive" title Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3. Whatever the issue with the engine, the latest bit in this saga revolves around Silicon Knights allegedly co-opting the UE3 tech as their own. Epic says in their suit, "Indeed, the plain language of the Silicon Knights' Complaint makes clear that Silicon Knights wants to take Epic's Licensed Technology, pay nothing for it, and use it any way it pleases." Epic wants "compensatory and punitive damages, the destruction of infringing goods, including infringing computer code, and attorney's fees and costs." This is only going to get bigger before it gets better.
i still think SK deserves to win

I'm not positive, but I think Too Human doesnt even run on UE3 anymore. Also, somtimes counter sueing can just make both sides agree on dropping both cases.

Yeah after seeing SK's argument I hope they win as well. Thanks for the extra information was very interesting.
SK spent 2m on the engine, epic can suck a fat one. Epic is scared and i hope they lose. To have the tools and access to the engine they need to pay the money, SK did and this is what they get.
If epic was smart they would settle and go on with their bussiness, not like sony did with rumble as they should have cut their losses and went on. No they had brass balls and kept fighting it, 300m later they settled. Hmm history repeating itself?
[QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Meh, Too Human will release.
Made an account for this? :|

It was supposed to be released over 10 years ago
So have other games, and they eventually released.
