I think it's true. I know of a big torrent site that shut down its servers in the US recenlty then relocated them to Canada because Canada doesn't havet the same laws as we do.

Better get the war plans ready to invade Canada to stop those pirates.
If companies were actually *smart* enough to get into the Internet business instead of being stupid and going down hard on Napster, only to see other people do exactly the same thing, maybe this problem wouldn't be such an issue. People would probably prefer a cheap/safe/reliable service, than brave the waters of the Internet, risking viruses and the like.

Well, the way I see it, the movies and the games that are being pirated, they are all released into Canada and the U.S way before it reaches anywhere else. Whoever is making the bootleg copies and whatnot probably gets the data/video/whatever from here and then takes it to the countries where the stuff isn't released...there was a giant discussion about it in my law class.
