Eternal Sonata PS3 Review

well looks like the ps3 version outscored the xbox260 version by a small margin.

good news still! i have been starved of rpgs for my ps3 i guess this will be a game to get! :D

here are the differences in the ps3 version from ign review:

"The PS3 version also benefits from new dungeons and quests. These additions fit quite nicely into the game as a whole, elongating one's total play time and further broadening the already skillfully executed narrative. Two previously unplayable characters, Price Crescendo and Princess Serenade, are now playable. Although they're only available much later in the game, it's nice to see an even larger cast of characters at your disposal.

The only technical fault I could possibly level at the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata is that it takes quite a while to save your game. Not terribly long, but the multiple scanning and saving processes take about twenty seconds or more, and that can be frustrating at times. Otherwise, Eternal Sonata runs beautifully on the PS3 and load times are very impressive. This is clearly the definitive version of the title and anyone that missed out on the 360 version should definitely this one pick up."

well its expected cos gs can only gives in multiples of .5

so it cant get any higher than 8.5 unless it gets 9.0 straight!

i'm pretty pissed off really, this game should have gotten a much higher score, on the 360, Back when i had a 360 i thought about getting this but i ended up not. If i had i would still have a 360 rather than a Wii

If you lems had made a bigger deal about it i would have been spared from wasting my money on a Wii :cry:

ES is an Awesome RPG i loved it on my x360, its about time the ps3 got some good RPGs, i dont care if it is multiplat, the PS3 only owners have been starved for a good RPGshadow_hosi

ES isn't a good game. Its reviewed by shooter fans so they're like, "real time combat in a RPG... thats almost a 9 by default."

ES is a game where you play cutscenes. You do zero exploring. Every town has one entrance and one exit so you're literally just walking from one cutscene to the next and the game never really gives you anything other than that.

And the combat... the whole light/dark thing is a bust. You just button mash. If you button mash you will never come anywhere near losing. You don't even need to use items. Just mash buttons and you'll never lose 25% of your health bar, let alone lose a character or have a challenge. At least NES games had you learning patterns so it wasn't just mindless.

The game also beats you over the head mercilessly with it's themes as if you're too stupid to figure it all out.

Getting happy for ES on the PS3 is like getting amped over some Wii shovelware getting ported to the PS3. The only thing the game offers imo is nice graphics and a boring story that has 1 or 2 interesting scenes that last maybe 30 seconds to 2 minutes each.

If they port Lost Odyssey, get amped for that. Thats actually a good game where the entire story is interesting, combat isn't super gimped, and it offers way more than just good graphics.

Oblivion and Bioshock were NOT announced on PS3 when they first released on 360. The big point about those though, is that they're 9.5 games :|

Difference being the PS3 is losing exclusives at launch, the 360 is losing games that have already been out for more than a year... the phrase "sloppy seconds" mean anything to you?

Devil May Cry 4, Final Fantasy 13, Tekken 6 all lost PS3 exclusives will be out on the 360 from day one, Eternal Sonata, Bioshock and Lost Planet arrived on the PS3 a year or so later... by the time the PS3 gets them... know one cares any more.
