Because of ps2, most people here are still playing ps2 and have dozens of games, this will make people in christmas and later on buy 60gb ps3 since 360 can't play ps2 games at all, i have heard 360 fans make out that the 40gb is rubbish cause of no BC, well if you think it is that important don't expect current ps2 owners to get 360 since it can't play them at all, 60gb will be ps3 biggest sales here and has being outselling 360 here 2:1 since price drop

60GB ps3 will not exist in Europe very soon. sales have serged because of price drop the only good move Sony made.

we europeons will be left with a gimped 40gb ps3 with no backward compatibility how will we be able to play ps2 games. if there's no ps2 love on ps3 there is no love for PS3.

BC becomes less important as the generation progresses and if dropping it brought the price down so be it and bc is always available in the better sku. its simple pay less keep ur ps2 if u want to play it that much or pay more if still using ur ps2 is such a hassle

well in dublin (the place where most the consoles get sold) we are pounded by advertising and it seems to be working. many your from cork are some backword place like that :P

Check the overall numbers aswell. You will find that both the 360 and Wii is about 2 mill consoles ahead of the PS3.

#1. America is more of a "Sonyland" than Europe is because it sold more here..simple as that.
#2. Why would backwards compatibility be a deciding factor to those looking to by a PS3 if what you say is true about them already owning a PS2. Why wouldn't current PS2 owners get a 360 because it has limited backwards compatibility, you can't play PS2 games on your 360 so what does that have to do with it:(.

Listen i'm sorry but it's the truth and when i mean sony land i mean most people here are still playing ps2's, now sinceps3 price drop ps3 has spiked and will to january probably but even 360 will here in christmas but the fact is most people don't care about halo here since the majority if not all ps2 owners haven't played it and so our favourite games such as final fantasy, gran turismo and metal gear solid are coming to ps3 as well as knowing the big games are coming such as gta4 and resident evil and silent hill but i think that if 360's biggest game is released and ps3 is now outselling 360 2:1 what will it be like next year when some of ps3 big exclusives are out and it drops in price even more not to mention people love the tilt controller here as well and even more we will want a system to keep playing ps2 games since we know our ps2's won't last forever and so most people will end up buying 60gb and 80gb versions but also most current ps2 owners will want to stay to sony thats my point and this is gonna be 360's 3rd christmas here and ps3's first and it's just slightly behind here

EU is pc land, sorry. Even in eastern europe were a lot of people don't own gaming rigs/consoles, you always see net cafe's packed all the time with people playing pc games.astiop
