...And the 360 really runs out of space M$ will just swiftly release a brand new console (Xbox720 or whatever they call it just to surpass the possible physchological advantage of PS4 as they did with Xbox2...because Xbox(2)True_Gamer_Lol, releasing consoles too fast = GG Xbox

So if it is uncompressed couldnt they just compress it to make it fit on a DVD for 360?

compressed sound has much worse quality.[QUOTE="billyea"]COMPRESSIONHammerofjusticeUncompressed HD 7.1 Audio pwnedYou know, there is no such thing as uncompressed audio. In order to be readable by computers, audio needs to be converted into digital data, and in the conversion process, things will always be lost. What you know as uncompressed audio is technically uncompressed, but is not without flaws. In other words, it's a waste of space.

BTW they call it 7.1 because they use 7 mic when recording. thus a file that would usually take 3 mb will take 21.

...And the 360 really runs out of space M$ will just swiftly release a brand new console ....True_Gamer_and why should we be happy to RE-buy a new system every 2-3 years again(500$ or more plus all the extras)? if i wanted to update my system id stay with my PC since its so much more powerfull. regardless what MS does im sticking with my 360 FOR A LONG time even if they release a xbox 720.
or they can incorporate games for the hd dvd playerKahuna_1yeah... and a** ram 3/4 of their fanbase:P And I thought that the lems main argument against BD was that they had a choices to NOT get the HD dvd drive.. If they start making games on HD dvd everybody have to get the HD dvd drive...

haha it might be there plan in 08 after it price drops like 50, otherwise they better work on some new compression techniques for the 08-09 games through 2011

And there is no way to increase the botrate once it has been downscaled.
COMPRESSIONbillyeaCompression costs money. You have to pay rights to company of whoever's compression technique you are using.
In 2020 DVD9 storage medium wont be enough.
JUST WAIT and u will see...
As u can see blu-ray is needed.

My guess is 2011-2012, sound really does eat up a lot space, when my bro uploads his 10 min movies, uncompressed they are almost 2-3 gb, after its compressed its around 150
Compression is not bad but you do lose detail in pictures or when you convert an audio file over to a compressed or smaller format. Not that it is horrible. Game makers have done that for years. But if you want the best sound and the best picture, an uncompressed file is always the best and that is what Blu-ray can give you. But that also depends on the developer.
Multiple disks can be fine, but I would always rather have just one disk than 2 or more for the same game.
You will never hear a programmer complain that he didn't get to compress anything.
Also it doesn't cost more to develop for a Blu-Ray disk. The disk its self might be more expensive, but they should be able to save the extra money they spend on one disk by not having to spend the time compressing everything to fit onto it.
or they can incorporate games for the hd dvd playerKahuna_1Ive read reports that while the HD-DVD Attachment is in use, it uses 100 percent of all three cores, thus making games an impossibility.

It only uses alot of procesing power when viewing a HDDVD movie
Do you know what you are talking about? If you do, respond to this question. What is the difference between lossless and lossy compression?Compression is not bad but you do lose detail in pictures or when you convert an audio file over to a compressed or smaller format. Not that it is horrible. Game makers have done that for years. But if you want the best sound and the best picture, an uncompressed file is always the best and that is what Blu-ray can give you. he doesnt understand what is needed to view HD movies, bluray players are like pretty much small computers

Yes they could and also lets not forget about alot of uncompressed duplicated data placed on BR because of the workaround for BR's slow read speed for the PS3.[QUOTE="FragTycoon"][QUOTE="gamer-adam1"]
