Doesn't help it win when its trying to catch up and its millions and millions behind the competition, as we can see as the hardcore and Sony loyalists dry up, so are PS3 sales. Casuals do not buy $600 consoles.

Too bad 360 has had a free reign in Europe for over a year. Of course, I'm sure the PS3 will be able to match the 360 in PAL regions, what with it's inflated price and inferior backward compatibility.

Yeah, true. Everyone here forgets that Sony is gonna catch up to worldwide sales sonner or later with the help it's gonna get in Japan, while MS is still doing worse than the original Xbox over there. and besides Sony still doesn't need the PS3 to sell like hotcakes at the moment, they still got the PS2 selling better then all other consoles except the Wii.

Now, it's just Europe where the decisive battle between the PS3 and the 360 will be decided... However, I have trouble seen how the PS3 will catch up to 360 even if they can sell better than the 360 by a marginal proportion.

It is going to have to start keeping pace in NA to start making up ground worldwide. It will make a surprising comeback to everyone in the March NPDs so all is not lost , yet.

First of all, PS3 is $500 for the equivalent of a $399 X360. so casuals do not buy $500 consoles??? So are you saying gamers are too cheap to dish out another $100???

Okay so you're proud that in America *the best selling land of the console* it's getting sold more then twice the ammont of the #2 competition is the best that SONY can do? Shouldn't you be ashamed instead?

Well the proof is in the pudding. The PS3 has failed to outsell the X360 in any month since its launch. Whats sad is that there was no shortage of consoles and even with the hype of a new system launch it did not outsell the cheaper model. I don't have to say gamers are cheap, but when you can't outsell the competition with your loyal fans drive the launch sales, don't expect the casuals to drive your sales when your the most expensive choice.
