EverQuest confirmed for PS4

Sony confirms that EverQuest will be coming to the PS4 and it wont take too long after PlanetSide 2 comes out.

Sony also says a lot more games will be announced for the PS4 this year.

Definitely has me interested. Will go along nicely with my PS4 collection. EQ Next looks pretty fantastic though I never played the original EQ.

It scream hardcore more than FPS ever did,it wasn't very popular aside from some games like FF11, Everquest,Phantasy Star,but on PC MMO were huge.

Never played EQ but with the big ambition they're having with this one, if it doesn't have a monthly fee i'll certainly try it but hate the art style of the game

To be fair, you'd be surprised at how much of the MMO demographic consist of adults that just play an MMO for a couple of hours over the weekend, or a few hours after work, and play nothing else; until they find another MMO that grabs them.

About damn time, they should have done this on the PS3 years ago... kind of wondering if they're not too late though with Elder Scrolls Online coming in the next few months, maybe they're too little too late.

Yes i know that but basically the whole basement dweller moniker was basically tag to nerds who spend endless hours in front of their PC playing MMO.

MMO just like FPS was something that scream hardcore PC playing,now if you talk about fly simulators well that is another thing.

And it wasn't one single person, but it happens everytime console gamers argue about how many games or high scoring games the PC has. Because all of a sudden RTS and MMOs are not games

the 2 games that came out for ps2 were great.

simple and clunky yes but having a great community that had no clue you are supposed to be an unrelenting griefer asshole went a long way towards making ps2 everquest even better than the pc version.

i am still in contact and playing games with friends i made in ps2 everquest.

dealing with soe is a chore but i can deal with that if i have to i guess.

Everquest 1 was amazing for its time, Everquest 2 was shit and Everquest Next isnt even Everquest any more.

Some of the absolute most popular MMO's have a higher skill/difficulty cap for both pve and pvp content...than almost any console title save for tournament fighters.

@finalstar2007: That's good, but I'll probably be playing this one on the PC. MMO's just feel better on a PC then a console most of the time. We'll see though. Already playing Planetside 2 on PC.

I'm still not entirely sold on the classless system Everquest Next is pushing.

Locking certain skills into ethical decisions seems like it's going to backfire big time.

The example I remember was helping orcs to destroy a farm to learn a new warrior skill. What if I want to play a good guy but want that skill?

It just doesn't seem like a good idea unless there will be multiple places and ways to get said skill.

I had high hopes of this being the next successful MMO to sit below WoW but I'm now left with doubt and visions of consolisation.
