What happened to MMO's after WoW? They all look just like it (even though WoW stole every element from different games) and they are waaay too easy and lame IMO. WoW presents no challenge and everyone I know that plays it has like 4 lvl 60-70's. What we need is a HARD MMO, made for Gamers who like a little challenge. I mean, if your gonna spend that much damn time playing a worthless game... Do something you can actually brag about. (I do not personally play MMO's anymore, after WOW,LoTRO,Runescape(better than both at one time IMO), and FFXI.) I'm only excited for Huxley right now in the MMO world, and Age of Conan is pretty cool I guess. At least they added some depth to the combat system so you have to SORTA pay attn.

I mean EQ was tough as nails, we need something new

When I was playing FFXI I remember a lot of people leaving the community to play WoW instead, mainly because it was easier. So yeah. Anyway I don't think MMO's are all they are hyped up to be. Addicting yes, but that's another story.

i still think WoW (i dont play no mo) has some interestesing battle mechanics. im playing a demonologist in AOC and its alot simpler then WoW. Ice mages in wow are not easy(imo) and there are many buffs, debuffs, and tallents that seemed alot more complecated then AoC. humf maby i should try a melee character

Yeah the extreme difficulty is what made EQ fun imo. You died in like 3 seconds from just normal leveling creatures if you got aggro from the tank. Required precise and skillful management. In comparison WoW is a cake walk that babys you through it.

EQ needed an easier learning curve but was definitely the superior game overall. Truthfully I don't even know how the hell I got into EQ with how easy and dumbed down we've come to expect everything to be.

WOW isnt easier then other MMO's, its more accessable. Because of this, you get more players, many of whom dont have the mentality of more veteren MMO players.

WOW isnt a bad game because it attracted a new audience. It remains possibly the best overall game on the market today. I dont play it anymore, frankly i just got bored to tears. I recognize that its amazing at what it does though.

Or because it removed alot of CRAP time sinks, that plagued games like FF11. sorry but they should be fun, not punishing, punishing isnt skill, its pathetic.

There is plenty of challenge in WoW, but most of it comes in the form of logistics and teamwork. It's still a great game difficult or not. It's not perfect, but all those challenging MMOs you're thinking of are far from perfect themselves.
