Go play resistance, or Motorstorm. I know there launch titles, but the only decent games right now for a system that is sorely missing, ahhhh, well, games. Oh, I forgot, you can watch bluray movies on your gaming system, one that won't even support java applets. The bluray player is already out of date on the PS3, and I won't mention those longer load times. At least with those longer load times, you can cook some KD before the level loads.

I never said that bluray was out of date, now, did I? I said it's slow, has not much to do with gaming this gen, and all the touted benifits will only benifit the very few right now, or 5 years down the line. Bluray has killed the PS3 in term of sales, and will always be the system out of reach for the mainstream consumer until 4 or 5 years down the line, in which the new systems will be around the corner.

Bluray for a gaming system is the single worst thing Sony could of done, but the best for pushing a newcopy protected/restricted movie format down the consumers throats. But, thanks for trying!

Second why would you wait 5 years down the line for blu-ray to become mainstream I rather have the blu-ray in my ps3 then buying an add on later. its called future proof. No, sales have been very disappointing for the PS3. Sure it got a bump in sales with the $100 price drop, but once they are gone, the 80GB version is back to the same old price. Sales of the PS3 are worse than the XBOX, nothing like the PS2 sales at the same time.

No ps2 was getting bad press for at least 9 months after it was launched due to lack of games. I bought 1 at launch and remember and Time magazine did same type articles it did on ps3. Look at Times archives and see what i mean. DazKurupt

These are not the reasons the PS3 is not doing as well as it should. The reasons would be.
Price- For what you are getting it is absolutely a good deal as it is a powerful multimedia device along with being a game console. However their main audience (people who bought the PS2) can't afford this system and are going with the more affordable XBox360 or a new gaming experience and even more affordable in the Wii.

Game Library- To say it's library of games currently and coming out for the rest of the year is less than stellar is actually an understatement atleast compared to the 360. It currently has 1 great exclusive game (Resistance) and it got overshadowed by the Game of the Year on the 360. Upcoming games like Heavenly Sword and Ratchet and Clank Future are games that show the potential of the PS3 hardware but pale in comparison to blockbuster GOTY contenders that the 360 has in Halo 3, Bioshock and Mass Effect. They are also getting alot more bad ports of 360 games and worse multiplatform games like Madden 08 which is a big deal. Why pay 500-600 for a multiplat game that is better on a 350 dollar console. It's future game library is absolutely sick (Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 2) but people aren't going to buy a system now and wait for those games as some of them may not even make 08 (GT5, FFXIII).

The last reason would be the Wii is doing so damn well taking away Japan and most of the casual gamers that owned the PS2. Short explaination for that but it's a big deal.

GT HD anyone??? If the PS3 were released a year earlier how can you argue that some of the games we are waiting for now would be complete?

Most of these games you mentioned have been in development since mid-late 2005 and as we all well know,it takes longer than 2 measely years to create an excellent game of that kind of size and scope. Also, the PS3 dev kits would have been handed out at the same exact time regardless of Blu-ray delays or not. Sony does not need to mass produce blue laser diodes to create dev kits. Now prove me wrong.

As for the comment about capacity, there will always be a devs complaining about capacity, its what they do well....If you wanna throw stones, what about the comment from Kojima-san that said the 25gb Blu-ray disc may be too small for MGS4?!?!? For every dev that makes a comment about capacity, another will create a blockbuster on the "inferior" format to void the previous rants of the complaining dev....its all relative!

huh, you say it has not shown anything impressive this gen, ok, although for something that is so hard to develop for it comes close to 360 on similar titles, just BTW those titles are second gen 360 vs. first gen ports for PS3. So if the PS3 has nowhere to go but up it would seem the up is better than the 360.

Thats funny how you are making excuses for the PS3 (first gen vs second gen games), the Xbox 1 had no trouble making its name known graphically in a market saturated by Sony last gen. The Xbox 1 came out the gate showing the world it was superior, so why does the rules change with Sony and its PS3?!? We as gamers are hearing a bunch of excuses and told we should compromise from the lack of performance from the PS3. I said it once, I will say it a million times...If the PS3 was not the successor of the PS2, the world would have let this system die immediately after launch, but its a Sony so it OK!

Ya, the Xbox1 was so close to PS2 in sales it was preety close, please. Xbox1 made its mark -4bil on MS accounts. The reason the 360 is currently in more homes then PS3 is that it came out first and PS3 has a higher price ( but is a better value). Then you go on to say xbox1 and I guess 360 come out the gate strong, like its been said before the 360s architecture is similar to that of a PC. If both xbox 1 and 360 had some other new processor call it the XYZ chip then it would be the same story.

Also the PS3 is meant to last 10 years how much longer will 360 go for after those 3 year warranties disappear and the rrod problems rsurface maybe what 4-5 years. Then what xbox 3 is gonna come with HD-DVD and more power and is gonna cost 700$?

I already have video of my 360 being out for repairs accept it dude. 360s were assembled in mexico to cut costs and it shows.
