seems to me forgetable characters and the story are the only real bad point cuz if glitches were supposed to deduct points from the score then I don't know how did games like Skyrim got such a high ratings..

Kinda disappointing that its story and characters are weak, especially considering that I just finished Lone Survivor, which had a fantastic, unforgettable story and character. Still interested in trying it, though. I'm in a survival-horror mood.

Playing it atm, nowhere good as RE 4 but fun game :)

I like it a lot. It's like Re and silent hill had a baby. You get the tense survival sequences of resident evil 4 and you get the "What the hell is going on" moments of silent hill. This game is the best thing I played all year for the ps4/XB1. The combat and bosses require you to THINK unlike most one button counter fest games we see nowadays. Breath of fresh air, 9/10.

Seems fair, it's a good game. A little unpolished, and way too dependent on ideas from RE4, but the variety and encounter design is so good

WTF?!!! A 7?!!!! Oh this game is crap then, there is no way anyone can enjoy this. If they do they are idiots and have no taste!!!!!

Seems to be a fair review score. I'm about 2/3 into the game, and I love it but the game does require a certain patience that could be offputting to some, there is an element of trial an error sometimes, though it did not really bother me too much and got better as I progressed. I don't know about the story yet, it seems to be getting somewhere but I agree it is a bit confusing at first, you don't really know what the hell is going on. Game almost feels like a mix of Silent Hill and Resident Evil.

It's just an another game, compared to Alien Isolation which is an EXPERIENCE. But I guess TEW will forever remain trendier on SW because most folks here like to stay within their comfort zones. Keep staying.

This game looks like just what Ive been missing, now the decision on which next gen console to get.

Difficult, good atmosphere and a long game. Worth a buy

I heard they locked the resolution or framerate on PC. It's all fucked up.

If you're going to make a game...it should be the best as possible on each respective platform.

Naturally people will be on The Evil Within because the can't help but DickRide anything with Shinji Mikami's name in it. The man's got a freaking cultlike follwing that rivals even the one between Sony and Cows.

I think people are stretching to make a game better than it is. The reviewer made good points. I don't plan on buying this game until maybe the steam sale. Even then I might wait for it to come around again. Too many games on Wii U I have to get first.

Too bad it got a 7 but I still want to try this game out later on when it gets cheaper in Steam. But anyways it's sad that TEW didn't turn out to be the masterpiece as Mikami's Resident Evil series did.

I've watched some streamed playthroughs, doesn't seem that interesting to me. Alien Isolation however seems much more appealing.

Finished it yesterday. Had a pretty good time with it. Just been going a bit through new game+. Got new weapons, and they're pretty strong.

Didn't like the final boss. Cinematic nonsense, as opposed to the crazy, pure gameplay focused ones you get before.

I'm about 2 hours into the game and it's an okay game I like it.

Sounds about the right score. It is a good game, now Watch as people on this site seem to think that anything under 8 is bad :P

Meaning that more people should consider the point of a 10 point system, yes that is more then 4 numbers.

Serisously though the Score does seem to fit, it is a game that while good, stumbles alot of the way.

I think the ending makes you question the beginning more than anything.

I'm a little surprised. Thought it would get an 8 or above. I've played only 2 chapters so far, and it's been pretty awesome actually. Don't let the lukewarm GameSpot review persuade you to not get it! Game seems solid.
