Evolution of Video game Franchises

So my friends what is the best evolution of video games franchise you have seen both graphically and gameplay wise? here i think

Doom

Deus Ex

These 2 franchises have excellent evolution and are greatly evolved. but Doom franchise is 23 years old and has no bad game and is perfect example of franchise to how to evolved. Even Deus Ex has one bad game that was IW thats not even worth mentioning.

so what is the greatest evolution of old franchise you have seen?

Zelda or Mario. Every iteration is different and innovative in many ways. 9 main line Mario games in 30+ years and 8 main line Zelda games in 30 years, with very few, and some would argue no subpar games.

Just the evolution from SMW to Mario 64 and Link to the Past to Ocarina is astonishing.

I haven't played Doom or Deus Ex. I know that the more photorealistic images are considered to be better quality. However, the more photorealistic the images become the more cluttered they look to me. I personally prefer the more arcade-looking images, but I know that I am in the minority. I respect that other people like the more realistic-looking games.
