Exclusive: 'God Of War 3' Dev Team Starting Work On Two New Projects

With "God of War 3" in the can, the developers at Sony's Santa Monica Studio can finally rest easy...for about a week. There's no extended rest for those talented folks, though, as they've already got two projects in the hopper, with pre-production kicking off right as their biggest game ever wraps up.

Check out our interview with John Hight, the director of product development at the studio, in which he discusses starting work on two new projects, one "short-term," and one "long-term." Kratos never sleeps, why should they?

Short term I see them making dlc for GoW3 and long-term I foresee a new ip. Just about every major Sony studio has had a new ip this gen so maybe it's Sony Santa Monica's turn since they have completed GoW trilogy.

Glad to here it. I read in aninterview before GOW 3 went gold that they had nothing planned as of yet. Hope it all goes well.

they should make a spin off of gow...would be good....

Would be nice to see them make an action game from another era and place. Medieval Japan? Futuristic?

That's silly, they deserve to take a break, that way they will be refreshed enough to work hard on their next titles. I mean GOW3 took them 4 years! of course most of the time was probably building the engine from scratch, now that it's in place they can pump out titles faster like Naughty Dog, course with modifications to the engine.

Makes me wonder what these companies do with all the new engines they've created. Surely they wouldn't just make them for one game and dump it afterwards rite?

i remember in an interview at ign they were talking to the developers of god of war and they said they wanted to take a break from it so i doubt its another god of war
