I just finished FEAR 2 yesterday, which was as average as average could be. This just seems like a lesser sequel. Man...
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Live action trailers for games are almost never a good thing, trailer looked like it was from the early 90's.
Still love the F.E.A.R series tho, will give it a shot.
Eh.
Too many monsters. The original F.E.A.R didn't need that to be frightening.
And the whole Alma thing is just getting predictable.
See folks this is what you get when you take a good shooter from a PC exclusive and make it multiplat. F.E.A.R. has been going down hill since it was ported to consoles.
The consoles did not magically make it bad, giving it to a new developer who's doing a horrible job made it bad. :|See folks this is what you get when you take a good shooter from a PC exclusive and make it multiplat. F.E.A.R. has been going down hill since it was ported to consoles.

Man that was laughably bad. I laughed out loud when the red guy (paxton fettel?) walked around the corner glowing and picked that thing up. That is going to turn into a meme.
Did you see the red guy?? LOLThe video didn't impress me, but can someone explain to me what was so bad about it?

It's not Live Action... it's the graphs from the game. Yeah, new graphix king confirmed!! 8)
I was hyping FEAR when it was on only 60 people's wish lists on the old gamespot. The first was an epic and scary first person shooter. I didn't even play the second due to it being so different (mechs? come on now...). I certainly will not be playing the third. This is a series that should have been one game with a definite conclusion.
where's all the elisha cuthbert pics?!OMG SPIDER-MAN!!!!!! HUMAN TORCH!!!!!!!!!! ROBERT DE NIRO!!!!!!!!! DAY ONE!!!!!!!!

On Fear 3: they put the 3 in place of the 'e' in Fear....
clever
You should really give fear 2 a try, it's not a fraction as bad as most people claim (I enjoyed it more than the first). The mech parts were a bit wierd but there are not many of them (2 I think and they don't last long).I was hyping FEAR when it was on only 60 people's wish lists on the old gamespot. My first reaction after watching the trailer: Why don't they sell Trix in Canada anymore?
My second reaction after watching the trailer: What the hell is Monolith doing these days that they can't produce a true F.E.A.R sequel?

Both trailers seem pretty mediocre. I thought fear2 was better than the original anyways though.

more like graphics god!!!![QUOTE="PublicNuisance"]The consoles did not magically make it bad, giving it to a new developer who's doing a horrible job made it bad. :| Monolith did the second game..............and as for console-izing it, it surely was (FEAR 2 that is). Aim down the sight, no lean............console-ified alright. Though that even may not be correct still, but it was the many console shooters that I guess "inspired" Monolith to make the changes that turned it into another average FPS (most likely Call of Duty). The first FEAR was awesome, it was built purely as a PC shooter in mind. As for the 360 version, it was as close to a perfect port as I've ever experienced. The PS3 version, ported by yours truly - Day One Studios - was an absolute mess of low framerate. Despite the framerate locked at 30 FPS on the 360, it played excellently, felt really good to aim and shoot. At the time, I did have it on PC but my laptop couldn't run it at nowhere near the equivalent to the 360 version's graphics and I beat the game on the 360. I wouldn't beat it on PC until I built my first computer a few months later. I may be a PC zealot but I have no problem admitting my fondness of the memories I have playing FEAR on the 360, though I much prefer playing FEAR now with mouse + keyboard + more than 60 fps and of course real 1080p output. None of that upscale bull**** for me ;)See folks this is what you get when you take a good shooter from a PC exclusive and make it multiplat. To me that said nothing about the game itself and more or less said that their advertising team needs to be fired...
Amazon. :?Wow. Watching that makes me sad. Especially since the first F.E.A.R. was so good. :(
I wish I hadn't lost my disk for that game...nobody seems to sell it anymore.Teufelhuhn
I dont want to sound like a PC elitist but!! When the first FEAR came out for pc and was made for the pc from the ground up..it was amazing.. yet when it started to focus on consoles... the quality just fell off a cliff:(

It's just this kind of a mentality again:
I hate it when people assume that a series goes downhill because it's on consoles.
They ruined Fear 2 and looks like 3 by adding monsters and ghosts, instead of just the one ghost, alma, haunting you like in Fear 1. Lame

The mech parts were a bit wierd but there are not many of them (2 I think and they don't last long). He's lying. Fear 2 isn't nearly as good as the first. It was a pretty mediocre game, but I was able to sit through it once. Fear 1 could be played multiple times no problem though.I was hyping FEAR when it was on only 60 people's wish lists on the old gamespot. The first was an epic and scary first person shooter. well its kinda true.. not the fault of the consoles but on the devs for thinking thats what console gamers want.... it was the console audience who was being the prime target for fear 2.. thats the reason it was dumbed down and ruined the seriesSo, it's only live-action? No thanks :| :(..
EDIT: I just watched it and well... The live-action portions were pretty bad lol. I'll check out some more gameplay videos later, but I doubt I'll become interested in this :(.

It's the developers fault. :/
