Sure, it's a Xbox Live Arcade game, but it's still a game. It's no more less of a game than MGS4.

Did cows just get nervous, and demand that Live games cannot count because it doesn't cost $60?

Its funny how Braid ( 9.5)

Geometry wars 2 (9.0)

and Castle crashers (i think 8.0) go missing from there ps3 rules 2008 lists when those are some of the most fun to be had in xbox 360 2008

Perhaps the mods can clear this up, but I don't think small downloadable games actually count in the whole "Which console has more AAAAAAAEEEEEE's" argument.

It is an AAA game but it is not as good as Mass Effect, GEOW, MGS4 and so on. It is graded on a different scale but is still a good game.

Most of Gamespot decided against it... Not just the cows.

I don't agree with it, though.

A game is a game. They should all be treated equal.

I wasn't aware that Braid is coming to the PC, but still. It's another AAA game that the 360 has over the PS3.

Because arcade games arn't rated at the same level as retail games. If braid were a 60 dollar retail game it wouldn't of gotten close to a 9

"It's no less of a game than MGS4" yeah it kinda is. People dont review DL games the same as full retail games. If you put Braid on a disk and sold it for $60, it would get KILLED by the press, or say MGS4 came out as a $20 DL game, same thing. I thought it was already established that DL games =/= retail games

IMO the banjo demo was great and i played the old ones

And i think game prices are proportional to their size and not their quality. Thats why i think braid should be considered an AAAE. You get what you pay, right?

Huh?

"It is impossible to ignore Braid's price point. At 1,200 Microsoft points ($15), it is one of the most expensive games for the Xbox Live Arcade service. But do not let a few extra dollars deter you from an exemplary experience that can rival many full-price, retail games. Braid is worth every penny."

Go and convince the journalist that. Most of them take into account the price of the game. So go ahead and tell them to start judging each game at 60$price point and you will see how many downloadable games will be 5/10.

Because they are in no way the same as a game on disc... and if compared to full releases, they certainly lose some of that status right away. You can't compare Braid with MGS4, Gears 2, LBP, or any of the other true AAA titles. Sure they're fun... but cows don't really bring up Wipeout HD, or the Pixel Junk games when talking about some of the truly fun games for their system either.

This monetary argument makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER.

Should we rate Guitar Hero and Rock Band as Godly 11/10's just because the game is nothing without the guitar or drumset? Of course not because this argument MAKES NO SENSE. My $10 Braid purchase was better than my $65 MGSIV purchase. That's what a review is, to let me know if I should purchase or pass.

if you want to compare DL games and full disc games then you have to remember that DL games are critiqued to a different standard than disc games.

imagine if braid was sold for $60...would it still be a 9.5?
