Here is a twitter conversation that went through Alan Kertz and DICE:
Demize99Alan Kertz You'll be able to lie down on the job.Demize99Alan Kertz I have no comment on Battle Recorder.#BF3
Demize99Alan Kertz Yes, really prone. Don't worry about the balance part, I've got it covered…I hate shooting delays. There's plenty of other ways to balance prone than keeping people from shooting… I see prone as a tactical decision, become a small target, give up mobility.
Demize99Alan Kertz MoH MP and BC2 used the same weapon and FOV systems…BF3 is an upgraded version.
Demize99Alan Kertz Tracers are in, period. Players need to feel the fire fight, and tracers add to that feeling. You can hide other ways… No, no tracer darts. That's a bit too BC and not enough BF.

This is pretty cool, looks like they really want a fine line between Bad Company and Battlefield. I find it interesting how they talk about dragging your fallen comrades, and feelingthe experience. Does that mean it'll feel like something along the lines of Killzone? Also there seems to be lots of different map types or diversity, we'll have maps with corridors, and open areas. It seems like there will be more urban areas too. There might be a downside to prone, and maybe now we'll be able to actually mount sniper rifles? They also seem to talk a lot about animation. Will we see a big difference in first person animation, like what they're trying to achieve with Killzone 3? I'm extremely excited for BF3, can't wait!
