What games does it have in 2008? I mean I might get one, but the games just dont appeal to me. Mario Kart? no. SSB? no. No mroe heroes? no. So can anyone give me a decent list.

SSBB and Mario Kart Wii both come out in 2008. Those, along with Paper Mario, SMG, MP3, and Zelda make the Wii worth it.SpruceCaboose
Yes I know about SSBB and MK, they dont interest me. However the 2007 games i love so I'm stuck.
If you don't like MK and SSB, then you shouldn't have bought a Nintendo console, probably.
Other than those games, there wil definitely be a ton of interesting games to come out next year that just won't be expected. Zack and Wiki was a wonderful surprise, and I expect many more to come in 2008. Spore will likely be out next year. There will likely be a few quality FPS experiences offered, like MoHH2. I expect a few good JRPG experiences also, such as FF: CC. Maybe an MLB Power Pros sequel. expect a couple of RTSs.
2008 is going to be a good year. Generally, I'm disappointed with hyped games, and I hate when people think those are the only possibilities of good experiences. Patience is a virtue. The games will come.
Wii is doing and will continue to do very well. Nintendo, as they have for some time, is good at reaching different markets. They have their age, keeps adults whove played prior tendo consoles locked or interested. They have the child factor, no denying it, its a good thing. And, now, they have the wide-reaching, casual factor.
But although it is a game console and competes with 360 and PS3 to some degree, I don't think its the same ballgame. Same sport, different game, league, whatever.
And because it does sit on its own, it will not falter.
Teh two things that worry me about the Wii are the trend of third parties ignoring it (apart from nongame crap) and the trend for Nintendo dumbing down games to try and make them more accessible.
Iwata and Miyamot have both expressed that they want to provide a more hardcore focus and there are titles like Smash, Fragile and Kings Story in the works but there stillisnt enough to keep hardcore gamers occupied. If the situation oesnt improve dramatically by next year i'll just be sticking to me PC this gen
Why did you buy a Wii if you do not want Mario Kart or SSBB. Sell your Wii if you are not enjoying it. You probably brought a Wii because of the all the hype surrounding it.
You don't like Mario Kart or Smash Brothers?!?!?! Why on earth did you buy a Nintendo system then?MrSickVisionz
I spit coke when I read this.......this is exactly why I think the Wii is not in competition with X360 and PS3.
btw most bought it for Wii sports and WiiFit.I heard you can do pushups with WiiFit.......you know that's a million seller right there in the US.

MY QUESTION to you is why did you buy a wii knowing it was the waste of money?
The wii is the worst choice an always has been there it is a gamecube with a fake gimmicky waggle wand an the games are all rehashes of gamecube titles which died after 2 years
its ur own fault for fallin into this hype an watchin complete n00bs acting like it was the best thing ever
U SHOULDA WENT TO A STORE TRIED TO THE WII OUT OFR URSELF AN SAID IS THIS THING REALY WORTH 250? IS THIS MARIO GAME WORTH 300 dollars to play? an then u shoulda if not NO i dont wanna pay this huge price id rather put that money to a ps3 an good game like CoD4 Assassin creed on the ps3

The Wii has its uses....if you have a group of people it's a fun console. Much like playing a board game. However, if you are looking for traditional games it's not going to be found on the Wii (at least not quality ones). If you can't fill your game time up with the 3-4 first party titles Nintendo has for the next 2 years......then you have to have two consoles.
There is still a lot that hasn't been announced yet but so far 2008 for the Wii is looking like this:
Super Smash Brothers Brawl
Mario Kart Wii

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles
Fragile
Tales of Symphonia: RoT
Harvest Moon Heroes
Opoona
Civilization Revolution

^ The ones I'm interested in. :D
By the way, Harvest Moon Heroes is incorrect -- it is Harvest Moon: Tree of Peace. And wasn't Disaster cancelled?

project hammer was cancelled. disaster isnt =)I felt the same way, I had a wii and had (chose) to let it go, it just didn't suit me like it did back in the NES, SNES, N64 days. I tried, i really did, but finally ebayed it and will continue on with my PS3, maybe next gen we'll see what Nintendo does. Prince_Denspion
You sold a console after less thna 1 year?
stop lieing you just didnt have money to pay your bills that why yousold your wii!
No one would be stupid enough to buy and sell a console within its first year.
And BTW regardless of peoples preconcieved notions, Smash brother is to nintedo as halo is to microsoft.
ites a 5+million mega seller that even adults and the most hardcore will play. this is just another example
Of people and companies underestimating nintendo.

Well, if Mario games don't float your boat, then you might as well not get a Wii, because they're pretty much the best games on the Wii

Anybody can throw out a bunch of stupid one-liners at any game they want. I don't see why people feel the need to do so, especially when they do such a terrible job.
Does the Wii's dominance make you feel like less of a man, or something?

I can't believe how much negativity there is towards this console. The Wii is great at what it's supposed to be great at. When was the last time any real gamer got off the couch and tried something different in respect to gaming? What console do most groups gravitate towards during a party atmosphere? Add a couple of great single player exeriences, price, and you have a successful system. The numbers don't lie. People love the Wii. I will admit that when I'm by myself, I usually play something else, but as soon as 2 or 3 people show up the Wii never turns off. It really is an "and" system as opposed to an "or" system. At that I think it succeeds. Also, how can anyone say that Zelda, Mario Galaxy, MP Corruption, Resident Evil 4, Wii Sports, Metal Slug Anthology, Mario Party, Super Mario Strikers, and coming soon: Mario Kart, SSBB, Spore, Harvey Birdman, and classic games is a bad software line up? For $250, you get what you pay for. Online may be subpar, but it works and everyone will be using it when Smash Bros. comes out. On top of that, IT's FREE. All in all I think it's a wonderful console and I think people need to see it in a different light from the 360 and the PS3. Oh, and I'm not worried at all. Even if the Wii launches games in the same manner as the GC, I still think it will be remembered forever for one simple reason. For me, it makes me feel like I'm 5 years old again, and my dad just walked through the door with the NES. TonySoprano314
actually when im partying with my friends we prefer to pla my ps2 rockband/guitar hero or DDR
also when im partying with my friends we like to play turn basedgames on the PC or LAN games
wii is failure at party games compared to the PS2/PC and other systems id rather play a 5 dollar board game like monopoly over the mario party

My guess is he owned a Gamecube last generation. I don't really see any other reason for such dedicated belligerence to nintendo products.
as a professonal PC gamer let me go through this list of stuff for other hardcore an awesome gamersProtossRushXAs a normal person let me go through your responses . . .
Harvey Birdman: Attorney at law = shovelware spinoff crap should be freeProtossRushXYou obviously have no idea what this game is. It's from Capcom and is similar to the very popular Pheonix Wright Series.
Samurai Warriors: Katana = the next 5.0 crappy red steel gameProtossRushXThe game is nothing like Red Steel and is not even in the same genre. It's similar to the Dynasty Warriors games and will probably not get the greatest reviews but as any gamer knows there are many diehard Dyanasty Warriors fans and this game should give them their fix on the Wii.
Endless Ocean = badProtossRushXIt's an original IP from Nintendo. Nintendo makes quality games and at worst it'll be passable, at best it'll be a new unique game that might carve a fan following.
Rygar: The Battle of Argus = milkin old dead franchise that was already bad back thenProtossRushXHow is Rygar a milked franchise? How many have there been since the NES original? Anyways, this game isn't a big deal as it is a port of the PS2 game but supposedly the dev team is focusing a lot on wii-mote functionality in the game and with quality controls it might be worth picking up for hardcore gamers (which you claim to be, but obviously are not).
Super Smash Brothers Brawl = rehash of melee with less characters an the good ones were removedProtossRushXYou have shown your fanboy colors with that remark. Listen to any gaming mags, sites, or podcasts of people who have seen the game in action and everybody says that this game is shaping up quite nicely and has way, way, way more content then any Smash Brothers game ever.
No More Heroes = flopped in japan alrdy bad reviews alrdyProtossRushXThe game has been getting good reviews so you flat out lied about that one, and why are sales going to effect a gamer's enjoyment of a game. Not to mention that the sales of No More Heroes happen to make Suda's best selling game in Japan in it's first week. His games never seel big. But they are always hits with hardcore gamers.
Dragon Quest Swords = lol a weak square spinoff not a flagship or blockbuster like the real DQ gamesProtossRushXIt's a spinoff, get over it. If sheep want to play the "real" Dragon Quest they can do it on their DS.
Bully: Scholarship Edition = already on the ps2ProtossRushXAnd what if somebody never got a chance to play it on the PS2. They can check out a new updated version for both 360 and Wii this spring.
Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 = fps look bad on the wiiProtossRushXYeah, but if done right it'll control better than any of the other console's shooters (see MoH:H2 and Prime 3). Again the Wii's graphics are not comparable to the PS3 and 360, Wii FPS's like Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Metroid Prime 3, and Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 are going to go look like last gen games or slightly better. To some people that is not that big of a deal. To you it might be, but you have to learn that it is a big world and there are many people with different tastes and priorities and your opinions don't apply to everyone.
Mario Kart Wii = looks like mario kart double dash now imagine playin dash with a dumb wii mote steering wheel u gotta hold up to ur faceProtossRushXWhy do you have to hold it up to your face? You don't. And why do you describe controllers as "dumb," last I checked controllers are not smart, dumb or any level of intelligence in between. Anyways, Mario Kart is a fan favorite franchise that only gets updated about every 5 years or so and it's time for a new update and I'm sure it'll be a good game.
Spore = better on the pcProtossRushXYou can say the same about almost every PS3 and 360 game that is also available on PC, which btw is an evergrowing number. Most of the gamers on these forums are console gamers and the fact of the matter is that the highly anticipated Spore has only been announced for one console and it's the Wii.
Okami = already been out for hte ps2 for yearsProtossRushXAnd? It sold poorly on the PS2, maybe now this great game can have another shot at commerical success. Besides the gameply suits itself perfectly to the Wii-mote.
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles = weak kiddy spinoff from squareProtossRushXFirst of all you obviously just assuming stuff without even knowing what you are talking about with your "kiddy" remark as this game has taken a much more mature look then last Crystal Chronicles game. Secondly just throwing "weak spinoff" next a game without adding any justification makes for a poor arguement.
Disaster: Day of Crysis = shovelwareProtossRushXOnce again, you show your lack of knowledge, Disaster is a 1st party Nintendo game developed by their recently acquired studio Monolith who are the devs behind Xenosaga and Baten Kaitos.
Fragile = badProtossRushXActually, it looks promising, but not much info has been released on the game. I can't think of any reason that you could possibly have for dismissing the game as bad, but then again there probably isn't much reason in your entire response.
Tales of Symphonia: RoT = been done on the cube b4 gettin old an staleProtossRushXWow you are such a hypocrite. Wii gets a fresh take on long running franchises such as Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy and you say they are weak spinoffs but when it gets a proper sequel to Tales of Symphonia all of a sudden it's getting stale? Puh-leeze.
Fatal Frame = no goodProtossRushXActually, they are quite good.
Harvest Moon Heroes = another port from the ps2/psp which were home of the franchiseProtossRushXThis game is not a port and the Harvest Moon games imo have a more dedicated following on the Nintendo systems (BTW, the Harvest moon games last gen came out Gamecube as well and were not PS2/PSP exclusives).
Wii Fit = awfulProtossRushXYou bash No More Heroes for note getting big sales in Japan, so why don't you mention how Wii Fit has been a hit thus far in Japan? Guess what, this game might not be for you, but it is going to be big.
House of the Dead Compilation = another bad wii shooter with bad grfxProtossRushXIt's a compilation of older games, why would you response with a bad grafix comment. That is retarded. BTW, if you think the House of the Dead games are bad, then that's fine, but the series was insanely popular in the arcades so just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it's a fact that it's bad.
Worms: A Space Oddysey = already out on other platformsProtossRushXActually you are lying again. This game has only been announced for Wii.
Opoona = badProtossRushXWow, another game that you just label as bad with no justification whatsoever. I can do that too . . . Orange Box = bad, Halo 3 = bad, Oblivion = bad . . . however that would make me sound like an ignorant closeminded fanboy so I don't do things like that.
Civilization Revolution = kiddy civProtossRushXWhat? Oh wait, you probably saw "revolution" in the title and assumed that it was a Wii only game and decided to label it kiddy with no knowledge of the game whatsoever. It's coming to PS3 and 360 as well. Guess all the systems are getting "kiddy civ" next year.
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed = better on other systemsProtossRushXSure, considering that almost nothing has been announced about the games, I'm sure you're basing that off facts and not some silly fanboy bias.
Ghostbusters = better on other systemsProtossRushXWhy? I personally think the Wii version will be better, it's made by a completely different team then the 360 and PS3 teams and the cartoony art****I think better suits the Ghostbusters franchise. Not to mention that the Wii's focus on multiplayer and the fact that the wii-mote is better for aiming my money is on the Wii version. Besides graphics, why do you the 360 and PS3 versions are going to be so much better.
Lego Indiana Jones = goin to the ps2ProtossRushXSo? Madden 09 is going to be on PS2 as well, should nobody buy the next madden for their next gen consoles. Should they dig up their PS2 just because it's available on the PS2.
Lego Batman = going to the ps2ProtossRushXAgain, why do you keep on bringing this up as if it's a valid point?
[QUOTE="360wiiPS3gamer"]What games does it have in 2008? I mean I might get one, but the games just dont appeal to me. Mario Kart? no. SSB? no. No mroe heroes? no. So can anyone give me a decent list.

Huge price-wtf-are you poor or something. To tell you the truth I'm kinda worried as well. Aside from Brawl and Mario kart their doesn't seem to be any other heavy hitters. Here's hoping that nintendo has other franchises like animal crossing and pikmin waiting in the wings.
I mean judging by how great Wild World sold on the ds...they'd be stupid not to bring the series to the wii.

Anyways, this game isn't a big deal as it is a port of the PS2 game but supposedly the dev team is focusing a lot on wii-mote functionality in the game and with quality controls it might be worth picking up for hardcore gamers (which you claim to be, but obviously are not).
yeah see its a ps2 port? dude ps2 ports shouldnt even be listed on games u should buy everyone an there mom already has a ps2 aan can just buy a the ps2 version
Super Smash Brothers Brawl = rehash of melee with less characters an the good ones were removedProtossRushXYou have shown your fanboy colors with that remark. Listen to any gaming mags, sites, or podcasts of people who have seen the game in action and everybody says that this game is shaping up quite nicely and has way, way, way more content then any Smash Brothers game ever.
ok fine 1 good gameS O WHAT? U GOT ONE GOOD GAME thats it i only said its rehash cuz it is kinda im sure it will be good but u throw in all these other games in here actin like there all buyable while theis is the only gmae i would spend full price on if i owned a wii
But they are always hits with hardcore gamers.
not my type of game it tries too hard to be original reminds me of like red steel or killer 7 they try to be hip an stuff an it just looks bad it mighta been cool on the n64 or somethin but in 2007 i just hate everyhin about these type of games
Dragon Quest Swords = lol a weak square spinoff not a flagship or blockbuster like the real DQ gamesProtossRushXIt's a spinoff, get over it. If sheep want to play the "real" Dragon Quest they can do it on their DS.
so what why would a console game like for the wii be spinoff of a portable game on the ds? and why would they make it kiddyier? THE CONSOLE version should be supreme with the beste graphics an deepdest everythin its too bad dragonquest works the other way around for the wii
Bully: Scholarship Edition = already on the ps2ProtossRushXAnd what if somebody never got a chance to play it on the PS2. They can check out a new updated version for both 360 and Wii this spring.
everyone an there mom has a ps2 alrdy an has played this game if they wanted too nobody will check it out on wii unless this is there first video game system an there a lil kid or somethin
I like my shooters to have the best graphics an i dont want 2nd best controls i want either a pC shooter with good controls an graphics or a console shooter with top of the line graphics an good cineametics an storytellin i guesss?
Mario Kart Wii = looks like mario kart double dash now imagine playin dash with a dumb wii mote steering wheel u gotta hold up to ur faceProtossRushXWhy do you have to hold it up to your face? You don't. And why do you describe controllers as "dumb," last I checked controllers are not smart, dumb or any level of intelligence in between. Anyways, Mario Kart is a fan favorite franchise that only gets updated about every 5 years or so and it's time for a new update and I'm sure it'll be a good game.
dash was the worst mario kart in the whole series by fans an this one looks alot like it in the graphics dept an fans do not like the wheel at all ive asked tons of fans an they all hate the look of the wheel an would rather just use the remote so nintendo made mistakes with it so far
Spore = better on the pcProtossRushXYou can say the same about almost every PS3 and 360 game that is also available on PC, which btw is an evergrowing number. Most of the gamers on these forums are console gamers and the fact of the matter is that the highly anticipated Spore has only been announced for one console and it's the Wii.
big whoop so what spore is only comin to the wii cuz the controller can do it better other consoles its not a very graphic intensive game etiher so even ppl with horrible pc's an laptops can play spore just like a sims game without even a good graphicard makin the wii worthless
Okami = already been out for hte ps2 for yearsProtossRushXAnd? It sold poorly on the PS2, maybe now this great game can have another shot at commerical success. Besides the gameply suits itself perfectly to the Wii-mote.
oh so what if its a perfect combo fine maybe i would buy the wii version if i could choose between the 2 but since i dont have the wii ill just get the ps2 version an not shell out 250 dollars
Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles = weak kiddy spinoff from squareProtossRushXFirst of all you obviously just assuming stuff without even knowing what you are talking about with your "kiddy" remark as this game has taken a much more mature look then last Crystal Chronicles game. Secondly just throwing "weak spinoff" next a game without adding any justification makes for a poor arguement.
chrystal chroniceles are some of the worst square games ever created they are some of the worst spinoff games in history IMO ive played them this one looks no diff
I can't think of any reason that you could possibly have for dismissing the game as bad, but then again there probably isn't much reason in your entire response.
i dont even kno much about thi game so im just assumin its gonna be bad
Tales of Symphonia: RoT = been done on the cube b4 gettin old an staleProtossRushXWow you are such a hypocrite. Wii gets a fresh take on long running franchises such as Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy and you say they are weak spinoffs but when it gets a proper sequel to Tales of Symphonia all of a sudden it's getting stale? Puh-leeze.
Fatal Frame = no goodProtossRushXActually, they are quite good.
Harvest Moon Heroes = another port from the ps2/psp which were home of the franchiseProtossRushXThis game is not a port and the Harvest Moon games imo have a more dedicated following on the Nintendo systems (BTW, the Harvest moon games last gen came out Gamecube as well and were not PS2/PSP exclusives).
fine another game i would prolly buy guess what its still the same old crap as the cube one gameplay wise an graphic wise this isnt a massive upgrade like other franchises do when they go next gen
Wii Fit = awfulProtossRushXYou bash No More Heroes for note getting big sales in Japan, so why don't you mention how Wii Fit has been a hit thus far in Japan? Guess what, this game might not be for you, but it is going to be big.
good i dont care if nitnendo sells alot of wii fits mayb htey should make there own excercise machine instead of ivdeo games call it nintendo diet or whatever the heck they wanna do just stay outa gamin
House of the Dead Compilation = another bad wii shooter with bad grfxProtossRushXIt's a compilation of older games, why would you response with a bad grafix comment. That is retarded. BTW, if you think the House of the Dead games are bad, then that's fine, but the series was insanely popular in the arcades so just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it's a fact that it's bad.
fine its cool i just dont buy stuff liek this i wouldnt pay 10 dollars for a complilation like this its just not my im a big pc gamer if u know what i mean i dont like to buy old games like this or virtual console games IF U GET my drift I PLAY ON THE PC ETC...
Worms: A Space Oddysey = already out on other platformsProtossRushXActually you are lying again. This game has only been announced for Wii.
oh wow an oroiginal worms game except all the worms games are the same u really think this gonna be diff then the worms games already out? im not payin 50 bux for this
Opoona = badProtossRushXWow, another game that you just label as bad with no justification whatsoever. I can do that too . . . Orange Box = bad, Halo 3 = bad, Oblivion = bad . . . however that would make me sound like an ignorant closeminded fanboy so I don't do things like that.
never heard of it so its prolly bad
Civilization Revolution = kiddy civProtossRushXWhat? Oh wait, you probably saw "revolution" in the title and assumed that it was a Wii only game and decided to label it kiddy with no knowledge of the game whatsoever. It's coming to PS3 and 360 as well. Guess all the systems are getting "kiddy civ" next year.
i dont play civ games on consoles so again i just wouldnt get this
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed = better on other systemsProtossRushXSure, considering that almost nothing has been announced about the games, I'm sure you're basing that off facts and not some silly fanboy bias.
anyone who would get star wars TFU on wii is a complete n00b an fails this is a pretty game that is supposed to be next gen it will flounder on a wii's technology level
Besides graphics, why do you the 360 and PS3 versions are going to be so much better.
i dont care if the wii would be good for ghosstbusres this crap is from the 80s' im not even gonna buy this on nay console
Lego Indiana Jones = goin to the ps2ProtossRushXSo? Madden 09 is going to be on PS2 as well, should nobody buy the next madden for their next gen consoles. Should they dig up their PS2 just because it's available on the PS2.
will not buy it anyway dont like legos
Lego Batman = going to the ps2ProtossRushXAgain, why do you keep on bringing this up as if it's a valid point?
same
[QUOTE="ProtossRushX"][QUOTE="360wiiPS3gamer"]What games does it have in 2008? I mean I might get one, but the games just dont appeal to me. Mario Kart? no. SSB? no. No mroe heroes? no. So can anyone give me a decent list.
ghostboy108
Huge price-wtf-are you poor or something.uh im not poor i hav a 2k thousand dollar gaming computer but 250 dollrs for a wii is ripoff as far price for performance ratio an tech savvy ppl r concerned i could build my own wii for 100 bux
You don't like Mario Kart or Smash Brothers?!?!?! Why on earth did you buy a Nintendo system then?MrSickVisionzmy question exactly.

By the way, Harvest Moon Heroes is incorrect -- it is Harvest Moon: Tree of Peace. And wasn't Disaster cancelled?
No it's still on.
