i don't think those are in game screenshots. i mean, why would they fill the game with last seasons cars only to have to remake every single car for the 2010 season? makes no sense to me
It will have nothing on Geoff Cramond's Grand Prix 2... I can still hear the theme song in my head. bwaa banow bwa bwa banow, bwaa banow bwa bwa banow, banowwwwwwwww diddlydidididid bwooooooowwww

Wow,nostalgia attack incoming! I have not heard that in a long time...i don't think those are in game screenshots. i mean, why would they fill the game with last seasons cars only to have to remake every single car for the 2010 season? makes no sense to me

They *are* in-game shots(but may be 'enhanced', shall we say), confirmed, but really, if they've got the 2009 cars modeled, then they're 95% of the way done towards the 2010 models already. I dont think its gonna be that difficult to update them.

apart from the whole look and physics of them? due to the changing regulations in f1 this season cars will drive a whole lot differently. and if codemasters are being as serious about simulating f1 as they say they are then it's going to take a while to redo 24 cars both in terms of appearance and handlingapart from the whole look and physics of them? due to the changing regulations in f1 this season cars will drive a whole lot differently. and if codemasters are being as serious about simulating f1 as they say they are then it's going to take a while to redo 24 cars both in terms of appearance and handlingmy_name_is_ron
I think you are being a little too generous in how hardcore Codemasters are going to go in having accurate physics for these cars. I'm still a little worried in how they're going to handle no refueling because the cars should be dramatically faster at the end of a race, and is Codemasters even going to simulate the effects of fuel weight at all? This might sound like a no-brainer, but there's really not many games that do it, and those that do tend to be the more hardcore simulators. I certainly dont remember this being in TOCA Race Driver or in GRID or anything.
I wouldn't be surprised if they keep the handling model they have right now and just update the cars visually. Nobody'll know the difference, ya know? Have *you* driven a 2009 F1 car to compare? Probably not, so 'close' is good enough and a smart time-saver for them.
And really man, dont expect a proper F1 sim. I would love nothing more than to get proven wrong, but its probably going to be a fairly arcade-ish experience. If you imagine how much money they had to pay to get the F1 license from FOM and Bernie, then you *know* that they're gonna need to make some money back on it. And that means selling a lot of copies, which means taking your niche product and catering to a wider audience, which means watering down the 'simulation' aspects of the game.

in recent f1 games (f1 championship edition on ps3 most recently) they have simulated fuel loads as well as tyre temperature. i think it's much more important to simulate such things in an f1 game than something like grid or even gran turismo or forza because the margins are so much smaller when separating the field. in a game with pitstops, tyre choice should play an integral part in tactical plannningits a bit late though isnt it when this game is to be released it will be during the 2010 season and these are the 2009 cars? so ferrai and mclarens will be useless :P
Hope it comes to the pc though :)

I was just thinking about this game. GRID already has so many other racers beat in most areas that I just drool uncontrollably at the though of what they could do with more advanced tech. So, I will shamelessly call it graphics king. (talking about the PC version, btw).
I need to change my clothes. My pants are soiled and my shirt's covered in drool.Codemasters Community Manager confirming that the screenshots in the magazine are 'in-game'.

So far, the article says it'll be the best racing game EVAR.
On the other hand, the article needs a "Genuine PR Material" sticker.

It's beautiful...

Anyway, the second a logo is released, I'm making a new sig :D I guess he´s refering to the ability to rewind during a race. You don´t have to use it,but the fact is that it´s there and that was a feature that I didn´t enjoyed in the game.
I hope F1 doesn´t have that.
At lest that´s my take on his statement.

Well it's a little unfair to the people who are outside of the hardcore to not have assists. I know some F1 fans want a sim, but you also have to take into account that Codemasters have to make a profit and creating a game just for the niche is near suicidal for the investments. And you also have to realize that's like me being mad at all developers because they gave the option for easy mode even though I and many others always pick the harder option. You can't expect everyone who wants to play such a game to have to deal with the actual difficulty of such a vehicle just like anyone who wants to play a shooter to have to deal with the actual deadliness of a bullet.I guess he´s refering to the ability to rewind during a race. Of course. But assists always existed in racing simulations, and in F1 games you usually have some sort of arcade mode for the target audience you are refering to. However, including these features into a simulation mode would not be the best move at all. I sure hope codemasters understands this,if they do not I guess I will continue to play GP4 with the latest season mods.[QUOTE="Arach666"] I guess he´s refering to the ability to rewind during a race.
