http://www.joystiq.com/2010/02/05/fable-3-almost-at-its-final-edit-stage-says-molyneux/

"The head of MGS Europeassuredly has a few more things on his plate than the third game in a franchise he helped create, but in a recent feature on Peter Molyneux at Develop, the British creator calmly pronounced the game to be nearing its "final edit" stage of production. Whether he means "ready for submission to Microsoft" or "we haven't started polishing it yet" (or, heck, anywhere in between) remains unclear, though we'd certainly like to get our hands on the final product sooner rather than later.

Additionally, Molyneux triple dips on his love for Valve, proclaiming
Half-Life 2 as his "favourite" game ever (you crazy Brits!) as well as the game he would most like to have worked on, and also notes the developer as the one he most admires (get a room, you two!). And hey, if you've been hankering to know his "favourite" album, it's Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon." (Yep, we were kind of disappointed too."

Sorry for not deleting the last paragraph :p

I hope to see some gameplay at E3. I also hope the game has proper AA, instead of that stupid blur filter, it makes my head hurt. Also why i had trouble getting through KZ2 :P

And please for the love of god, fix the animation in this game. Some of the effects looked just plain bad because of the ****** animation.

Hopefully it'll be a hell of a lot better than Fable II.

It always seemed pretty humorous to be. Don' know if it's intended. I mean... being able to fart and stuff lol. And the cartoonish art style. As for the news it's good to hear. Polish, polish, polish time! I wonder if the Natal aspects will be great enough for me to want to buy it. I'll be getting the game regardless though.

I found Fable 2 terrible so I won't be buying into the hype for this game thanks.

I loved the games personally, though i did like the first one better. I just hope they put an actual dialogue system in this time, and make the game longer. Come on, if Dragon Age can put 40 hours on a disc, there is no reason Fable 3 should be 10 :P

It definitely means the game is about to reach alpha or possibly beta (although that would mean a hell of a long beta test) -- if it was about to hit MS cert, that would peg it for a late-March/early-April release.

Pshh, this isn't news at all. Didn't y'all know that Fable 3 was finished before Fable 1 released? It's just so fun and innovative that Peter couldn't possibly release it until the rest of the industry caught up half-way to what F3 would bestow on the gaming community.

Nice to know though :).

I liked it too, a great RPG in my book. If you look at the pattern though, before Fable 2 was out, most people would say Fable 1 sucked, so maybe this game has the Halo curse.

Have any screenshots or game videos been released for this game? All I've seen is concept art.

I enjoyed Fable 1 and 2. I would not play them again, nor would I recommend them as "must play" given the vast number of superior titles out there, but they were good, just absolutely nothing else. Hopefully 3 manages to do something that puts it as a "must play" rather then, "not bad if you have free time"...

I enjoyed Fable 2 a lot, very emotional game. Sadly, it was too short with every little incentive to do side-missions, but overall it was a great game.

Yeah, I would much rather Lionhead studios take direction from actual innovative RPGs like the Final Fantasy series. :)

Granted a big chunk of time was spent on the technology, Fable and Fable II were in development for how long? 26 years? Realistically speaking, how much can Lionhead get done during a meager two years? I expect this to feel like a Fable II expansion. Not sure if I would want one of those.

I hope to see some gameplay at E3. I also hope the game has proper AA, instead of that stupid blur filter, it makes my head hurt. Also why i had trouble getting through KZ2 :Pnavyguy21
Killzone 2 uses some form of proper motion blur I think, in Fable 2 it was just some nasty full-screen filter that made everything look like ass.

It's quaint. And also very stupid. I kind of like it.

Why on earth would you want that? Granted I preferred the setting but it wasn't even half the game Fable 2 is.

Should be good. People seem to think these games are supposed to be something more than they are... still caught up on Peter losing his cool for a single interview and saying he could do certain things he didn't do. For those of us who were never bothered by this, Fable is an excellent, fun little RPG franchise, and I will be getting Fable 3, as long as Natal is not required...

Yeah but Fable 2 kind of fell apart at the end, absolutely no last boss fight made it leave a bad taste in my mouth even if the game was so much better than the first.. also way too easy and such.. Fable games have a very nice style going for them, the whimsical graphics combined with the british accents serve as a a very nice combination, they might not be AAA titles, but some very solid AAs.

During production Peter Molyneux kept talking about how games should be more forgiving, which is what brought about the one button combat. I think the lack of a final ''Uber'' boss was intentional. Some people get frustrated and never return to a game if they reach a brick wall, whilst others feel rewarded for overcoming it.

While I liked Fable II, it left alot more to be desired. Hopefully this'll be what I'm looking for.
