Fable 3 'inspired by Uncharted' - Lionhead

Fable III has taken inspiration from PS3 exclusive, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Lionhead's revealed.

Since the Lionhead three-quel is supposed to move the series more towards action, taking inspiration from Naughty Dog's stunner is probably wise.

But Fable's the kind of game that takes bits and pieces from all over the place, according to senior design director, Josh Atkins:

"This is an amazing industry and we take inspiration from all sorts of games," he told CVG.

"Demon's Souls and Mass Effect 2 were both great titles and we definitely think about the decisions they made and why we think they made them."

Beyond RPG's Atkin's said the studio also takes inspiration from games like Peggle and iPhone game We Rule. Quite the melting pot then.

"Drake's was a brilliant game that was an amazing combination of cinema and gameplay," Atkin's continued.

"Peggle is still one of the most satisfying and fun games to play while We Rule has a lot of good ideas on how two players can share experiences between two different 'kingdoms.'"

I can't wait for this game! My most hyped game aside from Halo Reach!

Fable gets too much hate. Although, I do think it is odd to be inspired by Uncharted, but whatever.

I did not find U2 story great, just common and indifferent

The game is linear, and short and just shooting, there is nothing i would like about it, for me was a mediocre rent,unlike GOW3 that was a good rent

why does he or she have bias? because they thought uncharted 2 wasn't all it was cracked up to be? i loved the game too but it definitely was not mind blowing or anything. it was a well done shooter/platformer, nothing more nothing less. am i biased because i think that? do i need to prove to you that i own a ps3 and that i'm not just a blind fanboy? Well kinect made a thread about upcoming Xbox360 lineup for 2010-2011 and beyond which just so happens to match theseekar's thread on GT perfectly. I mean everything was exactly the same. Anyways, it doesn't matter anymore as kinect has been banned anyways.

Even though the original Fable was a bit disappointing considering how much it was hyped by Lionhead themselves, it's quite commendable how they've learned to really improve upon, and rethink that core Fable concept. Fable was decent, Fable II was way better, and hopefully Fable III will be even more of an improvement.
