Face-Off: Gears of War vs Uncharted

That was an ... Interesting comparison.

I'm yet ti give either gears a playthrough, but im sure i'll enjoy it more then UC. I've enjoyed the MP more, that's fo sho.

Uncharted 2 > Both Gears games.

Uncharted 1 = Gears 1 = Gears 2.

I agree that the jump in quality was far bigger in Uncharted series but i dont get why ppl say Gears1 was better than the second one. Gears2 improved in every single way, especially in graphics and gameplay.

Pretty much what I was going to type. Giving GofW 2 a 1 rating and Halo 3 a 3.5 rating let's everyone see how much of a fanboy he is. I wonder what rating he would give a really bad PS3 game?

Uncharted 2 beats Gears 1 and 2 in almost every fact, except for curbstomps. If your talking series, Id say Gears 1 and 2 > Uncharted 1 but Uncharted 2>>>> Gears 1, 2, and Uncharted 1. So as a series, Id give a slight edge to the Uncharted SERIES, simply because Uncharted 2 craps on all of em.

Gears 2 overall >>>>> Uncharted 2.

The cover system on Gears is alot better, and the campaign has more replay value imo. Granted both are GREAT games, Uncharted 2's multiplayer is meh at best, and the story was great, but for some reason It doesn't make me wants to play it again once i've beaten it.

I'm not a biast 360 fan, my PSN name is Young-0utlaw for proof that I've played and beaten Uncharted 2.

Uncharted is a great game, but people on this forum are really really overrating it by acting like it's the greatest game ever made. Of course, from what I have noticed, system wars is filled with PS3 fanboys who don't even own a 360.

I played through half of gears one(pc), and got bored of it. I played through half of uncharted, and played it through 4 more times. Im not sure if its just me, but the lack of weapon variety, and the awfully repetitive combat gears has to offer kind of kills i for me. Ive never played Gears 2, but i hear the MP is awful, so this would leave me to conclude this, Uncharted2 > Uncharted > Gears 1 > Gears 2. I guess if gears 2 SP was pretty good it would be above uncharted, but really, uncharted's SP was so much fun, and never got boring.

Why are we all so concerned about this article? All it really is, is some guy saying that he likes Uncharted 2 more than Gears 2.

Gears of war series is awesome, so far i like it better.

Im halfway through Uncharted 1 and so far its good. But as it stands for me: Gears > Uncharted

Of course it could change after i play both games....

Overall i think Gears has more polished gameplay. But Uncharted has better graphics.

Although there's no doubt in my mind Uncharted is better, those comparisons were kind of brief and iffy at best. I mean, character and sales? Those aren't particularly solid categories to judge games with, and lumping everything technical into one "overall" category is just lazy.

Uncharted Vs Geow1 - i would give that to Geow1, considering it had co-op & mp.. Uncharted had better visuals but that isnt enough..

Uncharted2 Vs Geow2 - this one goes to Uncharted2 easily.. along the better visuals & story it also had better voice acting and a much more action packed sp experience.. and lets not forget U2 got mp this time around which is on par with Geow2..

I love 'em both.

Gears has better gameplay, Uncharted has better characters, story, and cinematics.

I like them both; Gears is a "balls-to-the-wall" shooter, while uncharted 2 is more "Indiana Jones".

I really like just about everything in Uncharted better than Gears. The shooting in Uncharted feels tighter, the melee combat is better than the chainsawing/melee in Gears (although the animation and gore is definitely satisfying when you chainsaw somebody), I find it easier to use cover and maneuver around in Uncharted, and of course the story + characters aren't even close. Gears 2 in particular was pretty sad in that department.

Epic games seriously dropped the ball with Gears 2 with it's broken online. The only improvements from Gears 1-2 were the graphics and horde mode which was awesome. Apart from that it was a downgrade from the original Gears so it's not surprising that it has a lower average than the first.

Uncharted 2 however completely obliterates all 3 games in every category apart from online which I'd give to Gears 1. It actually did what it was supposed to do as a sequel and improve on the original game (by a huge margin at that).

it depends on ur tast in games for instance i dont like gears 1 but i love gears 2, i love both gears 2 multiplayer and campaign. also i truely HATE the game uncharted the game for me just doesnt feel right the shooting the running the jumpiong everything feels weird also i tried the multiplayer and i did not like it.

many will think im a 360 fanboy but im not it just my tast in games and my psn is hjaber86.i just did not like the uncharted series i preffer other ps3 exclusives

lol of course because i've said the same thing about gamespot i come here to argue and revel in the chaos that is system wars, i never check the main gamespot site or any thing to do with it just system wars. And then you have the fact that in graphics they are onpar its uncharted and gears story is subjective i found the story of gears to be great, gameplay? i had more fun with gears in game play.

so any comparison is from the start false because the whole debate is subjective gears and uncharted are onpar once you get past graphics its all subjective as to what is better.
