I don't think so, and I highly doubt it. Times moved on, Resident Evil 5 - not so much... Resident Evil 5 will pwn. I don't think so...at least not as much as RE4 did. Why? Because from what I've seen, it's RE4 with more accesible menus, co-op, more guns and bad guys. Oh and prettier graphics. And NO I don't hate the series, but when I saw that Chris does the same stuff (recycled animations) when jumping down a ledge that Leon did...well we have a problem. Kinda like what GeoW2 did for GeoW1, I mean there wasn't that much to "correct" wasn't there?

I really do not get get SOC. I liked it a bit but for me it was way to short and really had no replay value. I was also dissapointed by the final Colossus but thats just me. Still I liked fighting the Colossus but really if you ask me God of War and Re4 are better games.

There are no other games like it on the market. It is sublime and way ahead of its time in terms of story-telling. Most of the story and meat of the game hides beneath the surface. There is a method to Fumito Ueda's madness and a lot of people tend to miss it on first glance... I know I did.
Shadow of the Colossus is pretty much the most technically outstanding game on the PS2. It took every single ounce of the hardware's capabilities and pushed them far beyond what they should have been capable of. It combined that with an incredibly unique atmosphere and artistic styIe that just spews fantasticness.
The game isn't for everyone, but it is definitely the best game on the PS2.

Maybe. Out of the games we currently know about I think GoW3 will be the best of 2009. As for second best its either going to be RE5 as you said or FFXIII.

There is a method to Ueda's madness. The story hides beneath the surface... it is based on subtle cues and themes told by the limited and unique dialogue. It is designed to tell a story with very few words at all and more through symbols and actions. That's the point.
What other game has an 80 page story analysis based on about 50 lines of dialogue? Not very many.
There was a reason the landscape was empty... its the "Forbidden Lands" where all human presence is forbidden. It is the home of Dormin, an especially powerful deity who has the ability to bring a soul back from the dead. His power was separated among 16 giant colossi that needed to be destroyed before he could grant Wander's wish. It was designed to help further support the sense of "awe" you got from fighting the giant creatures... by giving you a large, expansive and empty land that was almost completely blissful and serene yet held an awesome and dreadful power that could give those strong enough to wield it anything they could want.
It is well ahead of its time in terms of story-telling and quite "out there" in terms of presentation. Like I already said, it isn't for everyone but it definitely extremely unique and among the best the PS2 has to offer. You may not "get it," but that doesn't make it a bad game.
My personal favourite games from 2005 were Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 The Sith Lords and Dragon Quest VIII, since this is turning into a "share your favourite 2005 game" thread.

I am not saying its a bad game. Far from that. All im saying is that its not all that its cracked up to be. Its a good game but I thought their were far better games out their. And even if what your saying about the story is true I really did not care much for it. to me I am not going to say it was a great story. Maybe it was to you and others but not to me.

It's a sequal that will be 4 years apart from its predecessor when released. Wanna know what the problem is with that?
After 4 years all they seem to offer is just a juiced up RE4.

Tension has to be kept and RE5 works perfectly. Most people don't move and shoot when they want to get accurate shots, do they?
