Xbox360: Is in first by default being it wasrelease a year earlier. They didn't take the lead by beating the competition. As you know, the Wii is the true leader of this gen.

PS3: Is actually a fad being that the hyped died so quickly after its launch. $600 was asking a bit much Sony...

PS3: Has developed more new IP exclusives than what they lost to the 360. The ratio is actually 3:1.

Exclusives: Has never been the primary factor of a console winning the "War".

Hardcore gamers: Are the minority.They have no pull on the industry like the casuals do.

Action/Adventure games: like God of War, Ninja Gaiden, and Devil May Cry... actually more of them than FPS (console only).

Wii: Doesn't need 3rd party support to be a good system

PS3: like the P2, was highly criticized for the lack of games, yet PS2 went on to have the best console library last gen.

PS2: According to Gamespot, had 22 AAA titles in it's library in the first20 months, yet it was still consider a lacklusting library.

Xbox360: Has only 6 AAA titles in it's library in the first 20 months. It consider the best line of games this gen...

Sony: makes more 1st party IP and is more successful financially than Nintendo's first party.

I don't care what people rate games. Saint Row was an 8 but I played that game for a long time and will continue to play till GTA4 comes out. That was my objective. And it is holding nice. Now when Halo and NBA 2K8 come out, it will get less burn, but I still like the game. I might keep it when I get GTA.

You know, we know hardcore gamers are a minority, but here is a question I've never seen answered from a business perspective. How many games, per year, does a hardcore gamer buy versus a casual gamer? If I were quick to guess, I would say 3x. Which means that while HC makes up 10% of the population (guess), they make up 25% of the totalsales based off the previous numbers. Still a strong buying force no matter how you cut it in the developer/publisher forum.maabus99

Even if HC makes up 25% of the total sales, casual makes up 75% of the rest. As a businessman, which one are you trying to reach?
