As we know the industry or some of the fake in the industry tried to Tax Xbox again last week. Well it don't matter it's selling great on Steam and the overwhelmingly reviewers and gamers like the game.

Xbox and Game Pass is dominating and all you haters mad becuase your BrokeStation has no games and charges you full price for games and you begging for Uncle Phil to give you all of the best Xbox games.

Um the 4 hours I played on gamepass is in fact my experience.

To be honest, I haven't liked Avowed like I thought I would. It's not terrible, by any means, but it's not the "great Elder Scrolls alternative" I thought it was going to be.

Granted, I'm only about 15 hours it, but it's kinda mid so far.

No not really. The game doesn't do anything particularly well and in the areas where it should easily have improved it has taken massive steps back.

But if you keep accepting slop that's what they will give you. I'm not sure how a fantasy RPG that has 0 attention to detail is now considered a " minor issue" for lems" But if you love dead static worlds in your open world RPGS's with average visuals.... good for you ?

It does a lot well. You're video complains about things that really aren't that relative - You have unlimited arrows with a bow, why do you care how long they stay in a tree after they are fired?

Maybe you should look up "forrest for the trees", because it is exactly what you are doing here.

My issues with the game involve things like story telling and resource management. I couldn't care less about the water physics when you cast a fire spell on them.

Name what it does well exactly ?

I know what it means and it's much bigger then arrows not sticking to trees.

In a role playing game where you have the choice to be evil you can't even kill NPC's for christ sake.

The combat is fluid, the environments are well thought out, choices have consequences, the dialog and voice acting is solid, and the visuals are decent for a current gen game.

It lacks some "world simulation" features, but I would make a game lose 1/2 a point on a 10 point scale - it's akin to shooting fruit.

I have about 500 hours in both Skyrim and Oblivion - I can't remember the last time I just killed an NPC - most of the ones I want to kill couldn't be killed. More often than not, I accidentally killed someone and had the guards come after me (prompting a reload). I honestly don't think that "breaks" the game.

The combat is solid but it isn't anything special. The visuals and VA are average. So although they certainly do not detract from the game they are not particularly great either. The choice system feels almost identical to the " Outer Worlds" and although the art style is completely subjective I absolutely hate it. Having coral growing off my face making me look like some type of sea creature just doesn't hit with me. Most the side quest are pretty standard as well.

Yea I disagree with you here. World simulation is huge and in a game like this especially when your character is a blank canvas it's even more important. If I want to do an evil play through and wipe out the whole town and rage havok that isn't an option here.

I mean by your standards RDR2 wouldn't have been a much worse if they just stripped the " world simulation" features out of it. The world simulation features and attention to detail is what made that arguably one of the best games of all time.

Been playing more Avowed and am quite enjoying it so far. Really like the colourful look of the game and the combat feels pretty good. Whether or not that I can kill NPC’s is irrelevant to my enjoyment of the game.

Is the story and characters throw away?

@TheEroica: I would say there aren't. There are some interesting side quests and consequences for actions and decisions made earlier.

Skyrim is 14yrs old, it was pretty much ahead of its time IMO. Even at it's vanilla without mods, I have to admit that Bethesda really took it's time with the game's engine and all. They clearly didn't do that for Starfield and they rushed that game. Bethesda was a different company during the 7th gen. Obsidian may not have the resources as Bethesda, but that doesn't mean they're the worst studio around. I've put over a 100+ hours into Skyrim and looking at the comparisons, I think I'll just go back to Skyrim not because I think Avowed is crap, but because I'm really not looking for a Skyrim killer either.

Between the Creation Engine & Unreal Engine 5, I guess it's not fully ready for the long run of physics or the sniped of fun activities. I'd still say that Black Myth: Wukong is a better UE5 game. I don't know what DF was smoking but this isn't the best UE5 I've seen so far IMO.
