It looks awesome and would be a great game but with the whole lock on system its going to a breeze to walk through. i think this could be the worst decision ever to be made in a game
your thoughts?

Its not so much a lock on system as it is a more RPG system I think.
I am pretty sure when you use VATS, it is all about hit percentages IIRC, much like any RPG that gives you a percent that you may or may not hit an enemy.
The better your character is with the weapon (via stats) increases the likelihood of a successful hit.
What if you play it on Hard ???angelkimne
well as far as i know (correct me if im wrong) you can still stop time and aim at everyones head.
im sure i must be wrong but if im not how will this game be hard? so far the game is enemy free (again what i have seen of it) and even the dude who had his leg blown off had an oblivion voice actor lol

Its more RPG like, since its an RPG hybrid. You take your swings in RPGs based on virtual dice rolls, going all the way back to pencil and paper days. You can miss using VATS. Its all percentages vs skills.

When they showed the game do you think they wanted to show you having to grind through leveling up or would they have rather showed you the payoff once you did?
It's like asking why they have you test drive a car instead of inflating the tires and checking the oil at a car dealer.

Its all percentages. As for why it hit all the time, it would be a rather crappy demo if he missed often.
As for hitting alot of the time, we know nothing of the demo characters skills or abilities, or if they weren't just using a maxed character for the demo.
And in most RPGs, you hit more often than you miss.
Wait for the final game or at least more info before you jump to conclusions.
well if the do have to recharge then good :)
RPGS arnt ment to be challangin the hardest game ive played was FF7 lol
spose I should jst wait until it comes out to judge it lol just seemed a shame that you dont need to aim whatsoever but apperntly im wrong Haha

You never played the originals did you? What is going to make this game easy is that you don't have to use that system at all and player skill replaces the RPG elements....not that Bethesda knows what those are anymore.
The Vats system works with action points (depending how fast your character is) and hit percentages (body is the highest and head will be one of the smallest.
You pauze the game, choose where you wanna shoot, hit or miss, if you have any remaining actionpoins you shoot again, else you end you're turn and the enemy attacks.
But what I'm afraid of is that it will be muh easier to play it as a shooter.
If they are smart, they'll make ammo something that's hard to find, so you get the choise between, vats (use ammo sparingly, but with a chance to miss) and shooter (just blast away your bullets)...
I don't know if it will though, I'm just saying how I would've done it.
[QUOTE="Jandurin"]yeah, the first 2 games weren't really that hard, you know. Stonin
Try rolling a character with no combat skills, complete the game without firing a bullet and then come back and tell me that :D.
Okay, the first 2 games didn't *have* to be hard. You could make them as hard as you wanted. I still think it's funny that a complete idiot got special care in the game.[QUOTE="Stonin"][QUOTE="Jandurin"]yeah, the first 2 games weren't really that hard, you know. Jandurin

You could make them as hard as you wanted. I still think it's funny that a complete idiot got special care in the game.all 3 of the fallout games before 3 had the VATS system, you just right clicked your weapon and a targeting menu came up and you had percentages of a hit for each body part.
the reason he was hitting every time was because it was a demo and he basically had god mode on to show off the game.
all other fallouts had it to where even if you were 10 rated in perception and agility you could still miss (the targeting thing only really worked if you were making your character a gunslinger, and you had to get the right perks and choose the right skill and add add points to the type of firearms (ie small big or plasma weapons) to really utilize this feature. otherwise you would miss alot unless proficient in the type of gun you were using.
the thing i saw i didnt like was even though he chose bloody mess, all the kill animations were the same, (even the older fallouts if you chose bloody mess you would have different kill animations, one would complete incinerate the person, one would bite a huge chunk out of the torso and leave it in the shape of a C, one would blow a head off, one would blow an arm off and one would blow a leg off, one would cut the body in half, and finally one would completely blow up the body leaving a puddle of blood.)
i want to see different death animations and ill be happy with what i saw.
