What do you think is better? Obviously, Oblivion got better scores for all three systems, but I prefer Fallout 3. It is so much more than "Oblivion with guns" as I've heard some people say. I just like the setting and all better in Fallout 3, but Oblivion is great too. Such a tough choice to make.

Hard to decide really, both were next-gen adapations of two of the most beloved franchises of all time, and arguably they took new, questionable directions in their mechanics.

But overall, I think Oblivion dissapointed me the most, so Fallout 3 was the better experience.

I've said it a million times, but I put like 80 hours into Oblivion after I was able to get about 30 mods into it, I find the original game completely unplayable, I'd give it a 6/10 unmodded, awful and short story, repetitive quests (outside the dark brotherhood, but that's like a few hours to do all of them), boring and mindless combat that is way too easy on any sort of normal setting. Fallout just developed a universe that felt.. more awesome, somewhere between the post-apocalyptic gameplay and swingin' mid-last-century music, it just felt so right, a lot more interesting side-quests and encounters too.

I played Fallout 3 for like 2-3 hours , and i really "bliahed"..!! Bored , found fights linear with no intense at all , crappy open worlds... If you want to play something , play Mass effect 2... . This is my opinion though

Both games were bland....If I had to choose I'd probably go with Fallout 3 because it's quests were much more entertaining.

Fallout 3 - GREY RUBBLE,GENERIC SUBWAYS AND MORE GREY RUBBLE

TESIV:OBLIVION - TREES,GENERIC CAVES,MORE TREES.

This.

I would also agree with this if it were an option. Morrowind actually had an interesting setting...unlike the generic medieval RPG land that Oblivion was set in.

after 2-3 hours of playing you probably had only seen like 1-2% of the game maybe you should give it another try , its one of the most non-linear games ive played , i ve spent bout 200 hours on multiple campaigns to see everything and the moral differences and this is easily one of my alltime favorite games , voted fot option 4 because i cannot decide which is better another alltime favorite is oblivion

I chose Oblivion for the more rewarding stealth component. Plus, nothing beats the Assassin missions in that game, imo. Dark Bro'hood FTW.

I have Oblivion, and could never get into it.

I heard Fallout 3 is the same thing, but with guns.

And everyone knows swords/magic > guns.

Fallout 3 for me. I think after playing WoW Oblivion felt a little repetetive and less imaginative fantasy-wise. I'm enjoying Morrowind more though, it's got an extra layer of depth and more interesting environments.

Oblivion was great back in 2006, try playing it today and it's pretty awful. Fallout 3, on the other hand, sucked from the very first day of its release.

Its boring in its original form...Mods made the setting much more interesting, added more content to the game and generally improved everything.

-Mart's Mutant Mod - adds more monsters to the game (both in variety and numbers)

-Nuclear Winter Mod

Enhanced Weather Mod

those are just mods that help make the setting look less boring.

Oblivion 2? Don't you mean Elder Scrolls V? Either way, I enjoyed both games, but they could've been much better.

I voted for Fallout 3 for quite a few reasons. Wait goes much faster in Fallout. I really enjoyed the targeting system. I found the voice acting entertaining and even hilarious in some spots. Overall, I have to say it was a better and bigger ADVENTURE for me.

With Oblivion, I found the voice acting very dull. Another reason I think I was dissapointed in it, was I am used to more cinematic story telling with my RPGs, and definately an ending cinematic! But thats just something personal for me. Also I prefer to have a group/party with me, like Dragon Age.

You can obviously make the comparison, but they seem pretty different. Oblivion is more about "Just do whatever you want" in a massive world. Fallout 3 is a more true RPG, it has an ending, your choices have real consequences. I loved Oblivion though the scaled leveling meant it got boring long before you could explore the truly staggering amount of content it holds, but its still an amazing achievement. You can just do whatever you want, make the game whatever you want it to be, thats what I love so much. I was pretty dissapointed after I became archmage though, you got a cool chest and you can get some (rather weak) apprentices to follow you, but in the end most people dont act any differently to you. It woulda been cooler if you could get access to some more unique stuff, and just have more influence within the guild. Most people treat you the exact same which is disapointing (all the mages who still act irate to you, would you really do that to the archmage? you'd kiss his butt 100%)

Oblivion was total garbage. Any reviewer who gave that game above an 8 has no credibility. Fallout 3 had some issues, but it was a much better RPG. I didn't like VATS so much, especially because the combat outside of it was rather weak. The correct answer is still Morrowind.

I found Fallout 3 to have the better quests and story. The reason im choosing oblivion is that it had fun quests, but it was SO much more fun to explore and create trouble. Fallout 3 was boring if you just set out to explore the world............which is what people want to do in an RPG :P

I'd go with Oblivion, but only slightly. Both games are really repetitive and do not deserve their high scores at all. Bethesda doesn't really put much work into them, at least not as much as they should.

I couldn't really stand Oblivion. Even though graphically it wasn't that far behind FO3, the horrible art design really made it unplayable for me. Spent 70 hours in FO3 though, despite the fact I thought I probably wouldn't like it.
