Like someone said above, compare it to GTAV. It seems like they took the lazy route.

I actually agree. I was totally unimpressed by the trailer. Not to say the actual game won't be any good, but that trailer did nothing for me.
@magicalclick: They showed Bethesda how to make a proper Fallout game with New Vegas. They're more fit to take the helm, because they'll actually do something substantial with it.
I don't care that much about graphics (modders will upgrade the shit out of it), but I do care about the NPC animations.
For some reason, in every Bethesda RPG title, NPC animations are just... stiff.
@Salt_The_Fries: your not alone to me it looked like shit compared to gta 5
i liked how gta 5 looked an the characters moved
i didn't like how they look an move in fallout 4
the dog looked worse than call of duty ghosts on xbox 360 an fable 2 on xbox 360 how can anyone be excited for it
it didn't look good it didnt move good,
fallout 4 def could be the call of duty ghost of the series lackluster everything
Looks fantastic... looks like more Fallout. They did not need to re-invent the wheel on this one.
Good because you're going to get the exact same shit as the other entries.
I would've guessed that the Void Engine would've been the answer to some limitations, but seeing that it's only been two years since Bethesda made that trademark, i'm a bit worried that it'll run on Skyrim's engine because I really don't think that it only took two years for Bethesda to learn id Tech 5, modify it to fit their needs, and have enough assets ready for a trailer.
Not going to lie, when I first saw the visuals I didn't know what the **** to think... If the engine has worked in the past though they might as well save some money and use it again. With some of the great looking engines out there though, it just shows how afraid companies are to take risks now a days, play it safe, people will still buy the game and I mean a lot of people..
They are thinking pure profit here and nothing more...Personally I think the Fallout series is starting to get stale and they need to be careful here.
Why does it literally look like Fallout 3 with mods?
Because it is.
Yep.
Not like there is anything wrong with that.
For all the glitches and shallow gameplay there will be a mod making it better. As per usual with the bethesda game.
This will probably mark when I get a new PC build. I really don't want to play a Bethesda game on consoles. Looks good enough to me and I'm sure it will be great, love the universe they have made around Fallout and I can only imagine how massive it will be with loads of great DLC to follow.

Yeah but at least bethsoft games have different setting this looks like straight up FO3
@ReadingRainbow4: one could only hope
And that's the problem.
Naw the problem is when devs cave to a few elitest and blow their budget on some super high tech engine just to polish a couple of rocks... and leave a game world stale and lacking content...
Look at FF... did everything you asked, but haters still gone hate due to lack of content.... and by the time they were used to the programming, they were 3 games deep and people were bored of the world... but I already discussed this in my earlier post on 1st page
-15 year old outdated poorly optimized engine
-outdated visuals
-low res textures
-low poly models
-uncanny faces
-shitty,robotic and clunky animations recycled from previous games
-consolized to the extreme
Need i say more?
Witcher 3 smokes this.
Game looks good enough to me, we haven't even seen any gameplay. I'll reserve my judgement until after E3. Who knows, maybe the world will be filled with survivors, all moving, interacting with one another, a hustling, bustling ecosystem of scum and villainy. There's got to be something that makes this a 2015 game right?
They couldn't even put in fucking fur physics, godamn CoD does this rofl.

GTAV was good enough. This should at least be close to Witcher3/ACUnity. Not worse than GTAV.

what do you mean you didn't know what to think? DID IT LOOK GOOD OR BAD? things can't look like i dunno what im seeing did it look good or not bro
what im gathering is from the masses is everyones gonna buy this game, they all like it but it looks like shit and ppl are calling em out on it
so i mean its gonna be hit, its gonna be fun but it looks really bad
Chekc out YongYea's analyses of the information about the game released so far.
@speedfog: the problem isn't the graphics, it never has been with Bethesda. The problem is the shitty animations, it's embarrassing. That dog running... are you kidding me? No chance in hell I'm paying for a game with animations that look like that.
It's 100% immersion breaking. Bethesda are infamous for having terrible animations, nothing has changed. Not buying the game, not supporting archaic game developers that can't even make a dog run properly.

The graphics suck balls as well; the game's varied and vibrant color palette and its retro-futuristic character designs are cool, but its flat textures and boxy object-shapes are below standard.
The only thing I need is for my NPCs not to walk off the map... and be where they are suppose to be. IF they can make this happen, in addition to making it look as good as the trailer... then that will be a significant improvement.
Unfortunately we cant tell from this trailer.
What I dont need is fur physics.... I mean c'mon.
@Truth_Hurts_U: Anyone who calls developers lazy shows how little they know about the game industry.
Lol amazing looking sequel to one of the top series in the gaming world is announced, and instant reaction is critiicism XD
I genuinely thought "Fallout 4 - I have nothing but heavy criticism" was a parody title, like Comic Book Guy from Simpsons.
Fucking hell...
