Any decent comparisons yet? I saw some still captures and yet again the PS3 looks like it has been treated badly with a sub-par port. Waiting for Eurogamer to do their thing before I decide whether I will pass this one up, much like I did with Fallout 3. Developers should not get our money unless they provide us with a decent end product.

So Your gonna pass on New Vegas just because it looks slightly worse than the other versions? So you get games just to look at the graphics huh?

PS3 version seems to have better texture resolution, whilst 360's has higher AA. Differences in contrast are correctable by adjusting TV settings.

All in all, this game is amazing.

From the comparisons ... higher text resolution(ps3) vs AA(360).

Slightly off-topic, but is anybody getting constant freezes in this game (console versions)? I'm running it on 360 and if it doesn't freeze on the initial load (after booting 360), it'll do it when loading after a fast travel.

Very, very annoying.

Both console versions look ugly no matter what, so it doesn't matter which one you get.

I'm on the PS3 version and it took me 3 do overs shooting the bottles with Sunny Smiles because every time I'd finish the game would freeze. It did the freezing with the fast travel a lot of Fallout 3. My advice to you is to turn off auto-save. I lost 50 hours of gameplay of Fallout 3 because the game froze while I was saving so I restarted my PS3 and got corrupted data

I'd go with the 360 version because it has an exclusive DLC and has anti aliasing. Normally I would mind but the jaggles in in the PS3 version are distracting. I was walking around in the game and couldn't figure out why there were short black sticks flying across the sky, turns out it was a power line with severe jaggles

At least it's not limited to just a few people then, as the internet seems to be buzzing with it.

Luckily, I got quite a ways through before the freezes started, but now they are plentiful, and annoying :P I'll try turning off auto-save as well, and then maybe i'll just wait for the patch, which they announced they are working on.

I hear ya, technical problems of games anger me more than anything else. I didn't now they had a patch coming out though. I might just play Vanquish until that comes out so the freezing doesn't ruin my experience with the game.

Well, they didn't specify what they were addressing, so just bugs in general, I think. Still, this is a whopping bug/glitch.

Linky

They need to get it here ASAP.

I'm glad Bethesda/Obsidian at least care enough this time around to address this problem. Fallout 3 had tons of bugs that were never fixed. That game probably made my PS3 freeze up at least 50 times

Goddamn it...of course theres massive glitches and crashes...it couldn't just come out and be ****ing awesome...

Hopefully the patch is released by Friday (the EU release date). I really don't want bugs and freezes to spoil my experience...

You don't have to be a gold member toget DLC on your 360. You just have be a silver member, have an interenet connection and a hard driveto do it.

That's pretty crazy. I got surprisingly little in the way of bugs with my PS3 version (IIRC), definately no freezing at least. They seem to be on top, which is good as I find this superior to FO3 in every way.

Apart from the fact that PS3 actually has better looking textures? 360 benefits from the added AA though.

Looks better everywhere else in terms of what? Overall look? Better textures go a long way, but the added AA of the 360 version definately helps (that's the version I have).

All in all, it's a trade-off.

Was feeling pretty good about the lack of glitches, bugs, freezes/crashes on my game (PS3) so far... until reading you guys talk about how they get worse as you go along. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed and saving every time I think of it!

I'm playing the Xbox 360 version, it's rather hard for me to imagine that the PS3 version can't be just like the Xbox 360 version minus some slight differences in textures and lighting and such that seem to separate the games, but graphically I'd imagine they'd be pretty comparable. I mean for starters graphics aren't really a strong point in the latest Fallout games anyways.

My God? Its a comparison between 2 of the market leading consoles its kind of fun in a Nerdy way to see the differences in the graphics. I have the PC version ordered from play its arriving Friday. If you dont like comparison threads and all you have to say is that then go say it somewhere else like your Blog.

Just use the engine that's used for the game RAGE for FO4, and fix the glitches with the consle versions by encluding the patches in the new copies.

No, if someone honestly won't buy a specific version because it looks slightly worse -- via negligible differences -- then they have no right to even bring up a comparison. If they're that hell-bent on having better graphics, then they can do everyone a favor and buy the superior PC version, and then be satisfied.

Maybe taht excessive AA is what is making teh PS3s textures blurrier? Also, 360 has a color adn contrast advatage. Thats not easily correctable by TV, and honestly no one should have to do that.

Slightly off-topic, but is anybody getting constant freezes in this game (console versions)? I'm running it on 360 and if it doesn't freeze on the initial load (after booting 360), it'll do it when loading after a fast travel.

For you're information it happens on xbox 360 also. When you enter a room sometimes object spawn a little above for a couple of second. I have the game on ps3 and at this place object wasn't floating so it happen that time and if you reload it won't happen. Crappy engine does make some crappy **** here and there on pc, on xbox 360 and on ps3 that's it. Also, i want to point that i've seen both fallout 3 on ps3 and xbox 360 and the texture was also better on ps3 like in new vegas. Higher resolution texture = better image quality. AA help reduce jaggie but doesn't provide better resolution texture. If you don't like jaggie and don't mind a little lower resolution texture take the xbox 360 version. If you want better resolution texture and effect and don't care about AA take the ps3 version. If you want the best version take the pc version. Picture are picture. In movement you won't see a lot of difference anyway and this engine is crappy so weird stuff always happens no matter what version you choose.

50% of multiplatform game look a little or a lot better on xbox 360. (Bayonnetta(alot), Call of Duty (a little)

25% of multiplatform game look a little or a lot better on ps3. (Fallout(little), Final Fantasy XIII(a lot))

25% of multiplatform game looks nearly the same. (Medal of honor, Castlevania)

PS3 exclusive games looks nearly always better than xbox 360 exclusive games.

Aww, come on boss! Go get a PC!!

Actually, in the case of games like F:NV you really should. It's probably going to take 2 official and 2 fanmade patches to sort the game out and then a mod or 2 to sweeten the pie.

Anti aliasing on the 360 makes the graphics while roaming around the wasteland look better, as you can discern fine details better at range. Meanwhile, the PS3 version has sharper textures, so when you are indoors things look a bit better. It's like choosing if you want to be nearsighted or farsighted.

I prefer the look the anti-aliasing the Xbox gives to the game. I can sacrifice some textures for better aliasing.

Absolute fact. It's tiring to watch people who claim to care so much about graphics skip the version that is hands-down superior in that department. Short of one being damn near unplayable, it doesn't matter which you choose between the PS3 and 360 versions- they're inferior anyway.
