I'm not sure where I'm at. Fallout 3 was pretty fun, but it's hard to go back to it for me... The characters are so stiff. I hope it's different in New Vegas.

I have to agree. It was good fun the first time through, but when I played for the second time it just felt so bland. Needless to say, I could not even make it half way through the second time around and have not touched it since. Hopefully Obsidian will do a better job.
Fallout 3 scored an 8.5 with an impressive engine but flawed gameplay.
Fallout 1 and2 scored 8.5 with a horrible engine but impressive gameplay.
That's the difference.
If this lives up to Fallout 1 & 2 I'll eat a bag of twiglets.

It's being made by the developers of Fallout 1 and 2, but on Fallout 3's engine, so...it's remotely possible. At the very least it'll have great characters and writing.
Then again, I hated Fallout 3's engine. It crashed all of the time, even on good PCs.
I think what stood out to me most is out stiff characters were in conversation. Oblivion was the same way. Still a fun game, just not as life-like as some others in that department.

Also, am I the first to notice that that's an NCR flag? Looks like this game might be borrowing ideas from Van Buren after all, which is great news.
*edit* I'll also interpret that as a nod to the original fans of the series, woo. :P

That's exactly what i'm thinking. I know it won't be Van Buren's Fallout 3, but at least I think it'll be closer to the original games than Bethesda's Fallout 3 tried (and failed) to be.

I know what you meant. FO1 and 2 were AWESOME (and very hard too) but 3 was an awesome sequel and using the new VATS systems worked well in paying homage.
