Famitsu Awards Xbox 360's Bayonetta Perfect Score - PS3, not so much.

The powah of the 360 shows again who's boss. :P j/k Though I must say, the trend continues.

Great score though Famitsu isn't my most trusted source for reviews.

Anyway, discuss should feel the need.

Bayonettais the newest addition to Famitsu's 40/40 club, garnering a perfect score in the magazine's latest issue. Well, the Xbox 360 version did anyway.

Citing framerate issues, two of Famitsu's reviewers knocked a point apiece off the PlayStation 3 version, leaving it with a slightly less sterling 38/40. One reviewer said that the difference was relatively slight, but it was apparently enough.

Previews have already noted that the PS3 version looks slightly murkier, and that it was hard to keep track of the action in areas like the fall from the giant clock tower. These issues were apparent in the demo, which was released earlier this month.

So, as has been noted before, the Xbox 360 was clearly the lead SKU. What remains to be seen is whether Sega will iron out the PS3 version's issues ahead of its January release.

I see cows hyping god of war as the second coming, but that's just a hack 'n slash as well.

really enjoyed the demo. its was mostly the usual Japanese nonsense. but it plays great, really DMCish. defo a pick up when £20 game for me

Have you even played the game ?

Personally, after playing the demo alown I wanted to go out and buy Bayonetta over every this game year and even before that the game was not on my radar.

If you have a ps3 or a 360, just make a Japanese account and then come back. But really it's not perfect, the only thing I would knock it down on is graphics, outside of character models everything is not so fine tuned. On the contrary, it makes up for it's graphics with artist design witch is though the roof in this title.

But still I glad it did get this score, it has much more of a chance of selling now.

I played both japanese demos and the 360 version looked much better, it was a huge difference. The PS3 had lots of tearing, worse textures and didn't run as smoothly. Looks like some devs still have trouble with the PS3 hardware. :?

Yeah, I agree with you. The whole genre is kind of stale at this point. Button mashing while following the path the game sets out for you with quick time events out the wazoo. I just don't see anything fresh and exciting happening to entice me back to the genre. But maybe there's something going on with this Bayonetta game taht will make it great? I certainly wasn't expecting to ever hear about it again after I read the preview in GI.

I'm shocked this game was that well-reviewed, though it does have more of the Japanese hack'n'slash aesthetic going for it. Maybe Bayonetta is what Heavenly Sword was supposed to be. If so, I salute it, and I'll definitely try to play it even though I'm not the biggest fan of the genre.masterpinky2000

I was very excited for this game and was going to buy it, but now that i have played the demo i think i'll pass. Maybe it's just the PS3 version, but the truth is the game seems very unpolished to me. Frame rate drops, blury graphics and the screen gets too clutered with unnecessary stuff that it gets really hard to figure out what's going on on screen.lusitanogamer

This comes out next year right? I had fun with the PS3 demo but I'm getting it on the 360 instead of the ported version.

The Original Platinum Team designed it ground up for 360, it was the lead sku.

The Original Team didn't port it to the PS3.

SEGA handled the PS3 coding, which means no original team TLC. :(

Its a huge difference trust me, i played both demos on the same HDTV via HDMI.

PS3 version has lots of tearing, worse textures and worse framerate. I agree that most multiplats are so small in graphical difference that it doesn't matter at all but Bayonetta isn't one of them.
