Since the last few years i am noticing the number of post against the consoles have increase immensely .

Today most of people who owns a console or any gaming device have a great love for there console which is a good thing but at the same time they are the haters of the other gaming devices. They are fighting each other over which is better ,exclusives ,Network support and many other things.

The main cause behind this is the Exclusives , Exclusives are brought to sell the consoles more and it is ripping the pockets of gamers . Gamers are left with no choice but to buy both the consoles to enjoy good games . Just like for playing God of war series you have to buy a ps3 and for Gears of war you have to buy a xbox 360 . The thing to worry about is these exclusives are increasing Day by Day and this is because of gamers fighting over the exclusives which forces the companies to produce a better exclusives for there consumers .

We some times get angry and frustrated that there is a very good exclusive on the opposite console which we could not play. We have to understand same must be case with the others and so we should stop fighting over this.We should understand its only the companies benefited with the exclusives and not we .

I have a Xbox 360 and i currently cannot buy a ps3 .I feel very bad whenever i saw a great game like god of war or MGS 4 and many more are not being introduce to console which i own and i also feel very bad for those who owns a ps3 and must have same feeling.

Its we Who are suffering in the war of the consoles

Lol, just wait till you can afford to buy one, it's not that bad. You have your exclusives and we have ours.

I have the opposite problem. Halo games and Gears of War do nothing for me. No 360 exclusives do, in fact. Which is why I'm gonna get a PS3 in the near future.

It's mainly just Schadenfreude, "I have this, you don't ha ha" It's pretty childish, but still hillarious.

Well; it doesn't apply to me. When I see 360 exclusives on the stores shelves I don't mind at all but even if I don't like those games then why I should attack the other console? Each one with their own business.

Seriously.... God i hate fanboys. I only own an xbox but im not complaining. I love it and i love the ps3. When i get my summer job this year *After the school year is over* I will save up and buy a ps3 and the games i want like uncharted 2 will be reduced to like 30-40$ Seriously. In the end it saves me money cause games will be cheaper and it lets me focus on my console more.

Awesome! That is what every should do. Instead of complaining buy the things that are causing you to complain. That may sound wierd but. Think about it. If your mad about ps3 exclusives just GET a ps3. And vice versa for the xbox 360 or the wii.

While it's true that exclusives benefit the consolemakers because they create a reason to buy the system, I really can't agree with most of your points. Exclusives are not growing, they are shrinking. Compared to previous generations, there are almost no 3rd party exclusives (particularly between the PS3/360). This is the generation of the multiplat because developers need the sales from both consoles to recover their costs.

This. Back in the day, pretty much all games were exclusive. It wasn't till the PS2/xbox days that third party games being on multiple platforms was fairly common. And now, about the only games that are still exclusive (and stay that way) are first party titles. There are one or two exceptions, like MGS4, but for the most part, unless the game's IP is owned by Sony or MS, you can expect it to appear on more than one platform.

I don't think people think about exclusives until after they buy their console.

I think a lot of consoles are bought with multiplats, and it's not until a game like a God of War 3, Uncharted 2, Halo 3, Gran Turismo 5, MGS4, or GeoW2 for instance, that they realize what the heck is going on.

People can make better purchases if they factor in exclusives with their multiplats before they plunk down. I know some folks do, but not as many we would all like.

A lot of folks just assume that every game is going to X console. When they find out a game isn't coming to their platform, well, they then have to settle for a 6.5/10 scoring GOW clone game like Dante's Inferno to get their rocks off (That's just one example out of thousands).:P

You know what I mean, they end up just dealing with their mistake. Most people/gamers won't go buy another console, and for those that do go and make that second purchase, they will probably still buy the multiplats on their first console, making their second console purchase seem meaningless until the exclusives hit.

Great marketing, I must say, has this effect on folks. If a console manufacturer through advertising can convince folks to buy multiplats on their console, and even get folks to think multiplats are exclusive to their console through tricky ad campaigns...well, let's just say their marketing has done a tremendous job. That's effective marketing we see in today's age, people don't even realize. It's insane how effective it is.

It's a shame too, because all that marketing money, and sometimes even buying timed exclusives...that money could have funded an actual brand new game! We gamers are missing out when we think about it.;)

You can't fight the proles though.:P

Just one look at SW proves that the number of exclusives are shrinking. Instead of "X exclusive is better than Y exclusive" threads, we're now getting a crapload of "X mutliplat is better on Y platform than Z platform" threads.

I don't buy into the exclusive hype. A game is a game no matter how many platforms it's on, as such most of my games are multiplat.

I have about 50 games for my Xbox, and about 7 are exclusive, and i have 12 games for my PS3, all of which are exclusive. I don't enjoy gaming on my PS3 as much, which is mainly because i only have exclusives for it.

I don't care if a game is exclusive or not. It does so happen that I see a lot of exclusives on the PS3 that I'd like to try, but that's coincidental; I wouldn't be any more upset or any less interested if they were announced tomorrow for the 360.

I look at a multiplat as a publisher's opportunity to let a franchise find a bigger audience. What do I care if Final Fantasy XIII will be on 360? To me that's good, because that means that the franchise might get exposed to new gamers, it'll sell more on two platforms as opposed to one, and the extra sales will allow Square-Enix to have more money to fund future products. The only people who lose are fanboys who are more concerned with petty point-keeping than the best interest of the industry.
