Came accross this comparison of the shadows on both versions. The ps3 version is much better!

Just a pic. Does not show type of Tvs used or anything.

I assume that it was taken from a video and that it was captured directly from the system - so no TV's involved.
PS3 Looks like it handles the shadows better but also the textures look muddier on the PS3.

i agree... but i think this is the way the ps3 renders... not a decision taken by the devs. i would assume the source textures are of the same quality in both versions, but the way the ps3 renders creates a slightly different look.

Well you can assume all you want. If it makes cows happier to just look at a pic with no info about how it was done then go for it.[QUOTE="Eltroz"]Just a pic. Does not show type of Tvs used or anything.

To assume is to make an ass of u and me. In this day and age of lifeless manchildren who live vicariously through console wars, it is safe to always take these comparisons with a tub of salt. Even from major videogame websites, like GT, which were shown to be doctoring or even altering footage.

Shadows are 'scratched' in the XBox 360 version.
I see. The PS3 version is slightly jaggier though, so neither looks superior to the other.
^^^Wow, 3 people in a row bringing the PC into a thread where it isn't wanted.
No idea were those screens came from BUT the 360 shadows are nothing like that, this is the only screen i could find on the net to show them as i can't take any myself, just look at the ones on the floor they look nothing like those jagg shadows on the OP's pics (i call shenanigans).
Just like mirror edge http://n4g.com/News-224558.aspx
Farcry 2 look way better on the PS3,and that is just the beginning. The 360 is slowly becoming outdate while the PS3 is slowly exploiting more and more of it's untamed power.

Agreed.
I have the game on 360 and it looks better than that! And didnt the reviews say that both versions looks the same?PAL360
Nope most of them were in PS3s favour with smooth gameplay and aliasing (devs said it).Dont know about the looks. But there was an article which said that its runs and looks better on the PS3 !

TC's pics are right, been playing the 360 version and i've noticed that ALL if not most of the shadows have this weird blockiness to them, like a NET was thrown of the shadows or something, its very small, but noticable, not sure about the PS3 version, might give that one a go, when i hire it.
Also, wasn't it said the PS3's version runs at a better resolution?
PC>360,PS3
I actually couldn't tell the difference between the two consoles
C-Lee
id say pc = 360 = ps3 in this one.
i've seen all in motion, and I really can't tell much of a difference. I'd imagine the pc version has a high resolution, but it doesn't make much of a difference.
Why exactly do we claim things to look so much better when it pretty much look the same?
And Im going to go out on a limb and say this FarCry 2 > Crysis graphically. While Crysis goes for straight realism, the lighting in farcry is freaking awesome.

And you have no idea what you are talking about. KTHXBAI
Honestly, after seeing the console version, who would bother with the PC one? the difference isn't MINDBLOWING different, the 360 version looks stunning and didn't think it would look this good.
Go's to show you that you don't need to bother selling an arm and a leg to play the PC version that just has more improved textures, lighting and what not..difference isn't big enough.
Am I the only one who does not see any difference whatsoever?Floppy_Jim
you must be on drugs the difference is noticeable
I bought the PS3 version and had to take it back because I felt ripped off. It only does 720p, no 1080i/p which sucks because my big screen only does 1080i.
Not only that but when playing in widescreen on a big tv with the PS3 version it's not true widescreen, it's just cut-off screen and so a big chunk of your vision taken out.
Also when playing this version in my room in 480i fullscreen on my 21 inch tv, it wasn't true fullscreen... it was just the widescreen version squeezed down which was pretty pathetic because I play COD4 on that TV all the time and never have any problems whatsoever because it actually changes to true fullscreen, but with Far Cry 2 I couldn't see a damn thing. I honestly couldn't see an enemy if it was more than 10 yards away from me.
But IMO both console versions of the game are a rip off. The controls are horrible and it's obvious Ubisoft didn't put much(if any) effort when it comes to porting the games from the PC to consoles.

16.2 frames per second. bet that is a blast to play.
You can't trust comparisons these days, about that comparison...eh may be, anyways no noticeable difference during gameplay, and about mirror's edge, well d'oh the ps3 version might be slightly better cuz its the lead platform, i'm not sure what the lead console is here :P
Oh and btw lol@ happy cows and lems saying the picture is fake

hahahha that was a very bad ownage  ...This was the only problem with Crysis.I loved the graphics and game but it needed optimization.Far Cry 2 team has done a marvelous job of optimizing it properly. And to be honest, its no less than Crysis.
