not LBP.....while LBP does allow you to create your own objects and items, the FC2 editor allows endless possibilities as long as you're mildly creative. The FC2 team took the original editor from Far Cry Instincts and gave it one massive kick to give us (the gamers) something incredible to take full advantage of.

Thus far, I've yet to see one single level done with the LBP editor that evens compares to these maps created with the FC2 editor.

The nice thing is that both PS3 and 360 owners will be able to have this amazing editor at their disposal.

say what you will, but this is one VERY impressive editor for not requiring ANY programming knowledge one bit. Easy to use and offers endless options for online play as long as your imagination doesn't run dry.

To tell you the truth...I think the fact that the LBP editor can do basic scripting puts it way above the Far Cry 2 editor....

not that it matters to...im mostly a PC gamer, and neither of these editors is really anything special to me.

I am still playing TimeSplitters and making great maps. That and Neverwinter Knights.

LBP's other thing, is sharing those maps, something XBLive won't allow. Has this changed with FarCry 2?

We are talking 360 here, Live is a different beast since then. So, you are confirming that FarCry 2 will allow that? That's great!

FarCry 2 Allows Map Sharing on 360.

FarCry 2 Allows Map Sharing on 360.

I don't see why they'd change it for FC2 seeing how Far Cry Instincts Preditor on the 360 allowed it as well.

scripting isn't needed for an online FPS while it is needed quite heavily in modern platformers. if the FC2 editor were to allow you to create single player levels, I'm sure scripting would easily be implimented.

edit: the space given to the user in FC2 could easily be used to create massive single player levels so it's in the rhelm of possibility. Look at the first couple pics and look for any automobile. Now, picture a single character standing next to that and you can see just how huge the area is. Easily this is 4x as much space to build a level compared to FC: Instincts Preditor.

and no, the Farcry 2 editor is multiplayer only...at least on the consoles.

Scripting online can be used to create new gameplay modes, as was frequently done in all Valve's games....and seeing as how gameplay wise Far cry 2's multiplayer is completly generic...thats something a lot of people are gonna be wishing for.

What portions of Half Life 2 online used scripting and for what modes are you talking about? FC2 is about as generic as EVERY single FPS title this gen for MP so I'm simply curious as to what modes you claim require scripting when ONLINE MP is concerned.

pretty much every...take the popular zombie mods for CSS...those are all scripted...or the Puzzle maps for HL2: Deathmatch....

actually the best example is probably garry's mod...where the entire multiplayer bassiclly consists of different scripts.

They dont even have to be new modes, a lot of Multiplayer scripts are for competative games....or alterations to the original game...like in a lot of Blizzard's titles.

Forge is a joke and even was when Halo3 came out seeing how Far Cry Instincts Preditor's editor is equally impressive considering it's only slightly improved over the Xbox Far Cry Instincts.

Forge isn't a joke. They've created some damn good maps with the limited capability the system has. Sure, create the Eiffel tower and two pyramid islands. Some guy, with a dash of ingenuity, created a map that seemed to defy the laws of gravity with Halo 3.

This editor does look good though. Will probably get this for the PC.

It's too bad only a small portion of the maps sent for approval will go through. That means if there's 50,000 maps sent for approval, only about 10 will go through.

maps don't need to go through an approval process. You create, finalize, upload and it's all done.

by simply joining a room with a user created map in the play list. Maps auto download and then you enter the lobby or match (whichever one the rest of the room is in atm).

While I will be purchasing both LBP and Far Cry 2, aren't you comparing two totally different things? I mean, LBP is a side scrolling game whereas Far Cry 2 is a FPS. And as you mentioned, Far Cry 2 is on both PS3 and 360 soooo why are we even debating which one has a better level editor? I mean if I follow you argument I might as well say "well Far Cry 2 can't do jet packs, skateboards, or elemental areas!".

Wow, after seeing that, I may want to cancel my GeOW2 preorder and go for Far Cry 2

Has it been reviewed on 360 or PS3 yet?
