Bad for consoles?
they still look great in their own regards, just not as good as PC. why are hermits so obsessed about graphics?
Do you admire your graphics card more then actually playing games?
Far cry 2? Who cares? First one wasn't that great, second one does look like it has some new stuff. But it's a rent at most for me
THe only thing that ruined the first one was mutant apes. THere will be no mutant apes here.Far cry 2? Who cares? First one wasn't that great, second one does look like it has some new stuff. But it's a rent at most for me

so? this isn't even something to brag about anymore. it's so obvious. a few differences in graphics? not stopping me from getting whichever version I want
Obviously it looks better on a high end PC ..DUH ...
Gosh Eurogamer is so dumb ...they shouldnt be allowed to play games , let alone review them.

I'm sure thats what they do ... and that was the purpose of Crysis.

No, the purpose of Crysis was to provide an open environment with dozens of ways to go about any single situation allowing for a large ammount of replability and playtime with a unique experience everytime.[QUOTE="AtrumRegina"][QUOTE="-GhostMLD-"]Do you admire your graphics card more then actually playing games?

Doubtely noted. On a side note, Crysis has scored quite high on a number of different review sites, most of the citing its flexibility in gameplay as being one of the primary factors in its overall score.
I'm not surprised. When 360 came out 2.5 years ago it ws topping graphics on pc games. But consoles update every 4-10 years and pc tech updates every 6 months -1 year. It was only a matter of time before pc games outshine 360/ps3 games. Infact crysis has for a long time already, but this adds another scoop to the pile. But i still love my 360 and pc about the same as of now.I want to thanks GenTom for posting this.....

Consolites (like you) are far more obsessed with graphics. For every PC graphic related thread, there's 10 console graphic related threads.
There's always PS3 vs 360 graphic comparison threads.....you guys are obsessed with fighting for 2nd place. I don't get it.

what do you expect? when it comes to graphics, the PS3 and 360 are the only two in the same league
"Far Cry 2 is also a beautiful game, at least on PC. Clever shading based on layers not textures means the game can scale to your PC, and the powerful demonstration machine displayed a crisp, sun-drenched, coherent and detailed landscape; one both functional and flattering, given the decision to all but scrap a HUD. Requirements will be typically lower than bitter rival Crysis, we're told, but Far Cry 2 will happily get the most out of even the most monstrous rig. Redding describes the console versions as comparable to a "medium load-out on PC", and warns us that, "graphically you're going to notice slight differences". Which we did. The Xbox 360 was the better of the two with its anti-aliasing, but both looked unspectacular and even drab in points. Far from ugly, mind you."
What the fook is up with this? d:
The first Far Cry was amazing, definitely one of my favorite and most cherished games of all time. And also, I find it funny how so many people on SW brag about Gears 2 looking better than MGS or Killzone killing the xbox in graphics, but when PC's graphics get involved, they pretend like they don't care about graphics.Far cry 2? No, the multiplats (quake 4, COD2) looked worse on 360 than a high end PC, and FEAR was considered the best looking game at the time which was released a year later on the 360.
Back on topic though... I dont think anyone one was naive enough to actualy think the game would look "equal" especialy when PC's can drasticaly increase AA/AF and resolution of the game.
Hermits are the only group in system wars not allowed to brag about graphics! You know why?
It hurts the feelings of consolites lol :P
On a serious note, I do agree with those who say this was no big surprise. At this stage in the console cycle, and multiplat is going to be drastically better looking on a pc on higher settings. Thats why, with such cheap high end cards out now, its a good time to be a hermit.

Yes, Farcry had big open environments for the time and Crysis takes it further. Can't remember the name of the level where you're fighting a huge battle against the Koreans and you have to take down the AA guns but there is a whole battle going on and you can go about your mission anyway you want.
Stalker isn't as open world as I thought it was going to be. It's zoned off.
Crysis isn't completely open world, it is based on levels, its just that the levels are sooo huge.
