Farcry 2 announced for 360, PS3

London, United Kingdom - 3rd January, 2008 - Today, Ubisoft announced that Far Cry® 2 is being developed for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PLAYSTATION®3 computer entertainment system. Far Cry 2 is a next-generation first-person shooter being created by Ubisoft's Montreal development studio.

More than just a visual and technological achievement, Far Cry 2 immerses players in an entirely new kind of gaming experience, featuring a custom-made video game engine built from the ground up. Explains why it was one of Ubisofts 3 delays this year.

I would imagine its been in development long enough now that the PC version wont be changed ... atmleast i hope not.

Not happening, this isnt official yet, no way, this game is on par with Crysis and is trying to beat it out, so again not happening, must be a mistake.

It could be a spin-off, but while Instincts was fantastic, it lacked a lot of what the PC game had, but it sure did make up by providing a more fun game but you couldnt help feel a little cheated

Yep, i hope we let this one die for good, this game is on the same level of Crysis, its not going to console as the franchise's rep is in shambles after some truely pathetic console ports. Instincts was awesome, but too many rehashes after that.

One thing though, the devs stated all their demos ran on a current gen dual core machine with two 8800 GTX, and they were FLAWLESS, this is period of the developement when it wasnt even alpha, so it seems that game is well optimised, who knows, it may JUST happen.

This is old news. They've had a SKU for Far Cry 2 on Gamestop & EBGames websites for weeks now. Far Cry 2 is coming to XBox 360 and PS3. I'm sure it'll lose something in the translation versus the PC version. The fact that console systems are getting a LOT of PC exclusives it starting to become the norm. XanderZane

So did I. The multiplayer was lots of fun and the level editor was nice. I remember playing on some really good user created maps.

teamxbox jumps on "comfirmations" way before they can personally confirm them. Same with IGN. Thing is, all of these "confirmations" have had drastically different stories of the announcement... On Neogaf, apparantly it was only announced to be coming to the 360 and PS3 without any mention of any PC version coming ever. However, the game is nearly at completion for the PC. Teamxbox says it was announced when the game was "delayed" to be released simultaneously with the PC version. However, the delay announcementwas nearly a month ago.... IGN says it was announced today to be released 6 months after the PC version. I cry foul and question these articles....

second xbox, 360, wii had far cry instincts and far cry predator.

They also didn't see the glitches in halo's AI.. but then again fanboys don't see the wrong in anything they like. Not to me mention Call of Duty's Ai is pretty bad as well, it's just covered up in mass fire fights.

100% correct. This game has gone multiplat many times over, they will probably just dumb down some graphics and make it slightly more linear but I do hope it is basically the sme as the pc version. I don't want companies to start screwing over any platform, I'm looking at you EA with orange box.
