That's crazy. That's why I'll be getting the XBox 360 version instead.
Thats a bunch of crap. The recommenced is never what you need to run the game maxed out. Sure you'll be able to run it decently but now what you expect. Anyone remember the requirement for crysis and yet the only play to truell7 play it maxed out is with tri-SLI 280GTXs.
Hey but if there close to that then I reward ubisoft for good optimizing.

What? Do yuo know how cheap you could build a pc to match the recommended requirements let alone the minimum?

There's nothing crazy about it.
Core 2 Duo family CPU's are very common these days while quad-core CPU's constantly become cheaper and cheaper.
The Nvidia 8600GTS is a low-end card which costs very little. You'd be better off throwing in an extra $50 for an 8800GT which should run this game as smooth as silk.
Also, 2GB of memory is extremely cheap and has been the norm for most stock computers for a long time now.

Well the 360 wont be matching the recommended requirements lol. and you dont need tri-sli GTX 280s to max crysis. My friend does it with a single GTX260 at 1440x900...stop talking rubbish pls.

Recommended =/= Maxed Out
Recommended is only used to describe the PC specifications that are required to run the game at moderate settings within the game. An 8600 GTS will not max this game out, but it *should* run it at medium settings with stable framerates.

A GTX 260 would start to suffer on resolutions above 1680 x 1050, though.

Also not every game is like Crysis. These "recommended" settings differ a lot from a game to game. For e.g. Mass Effect on the recommended hardware should run on high settings, some games on the other hand, like NWN2 would struggle to run at low/med settings. So it's too early to judge Farcry's optimization yet.[QUOTE="Animal-Mother"]before we know it were gonna have to be selling our souls to Crytek to play there gamesDAZZER7
Why? Do they charge more their games?
i phrased that poorly, what i meant to say was people with mediorce rigs are going to have to be selling our souls to Crytek to play there games, i mean i feel like everytime a new game comes out only nasa supercomputers can handle them

I dont think that fairly represents the state of PC gaming today. In the past, hardware has struggled to keep up with software but now, enthusiast level hardware from 2 years ago is still maxing just about any game out apart from crysis. Any new game coming out lately can be run maxed on mid - high end hardware.

do you have any idea how cheap that hardware is???Well my system easily exceeds those; so if I decide to pick the game up performance won't be a problem.
As a side note isn't it funny how some driver work can turn a GPU that was widely considering crap into a cross platform recommendation? When the 8600s first came out they struggled against their last gen counterparts, console users sometimes make fun of the fact that PC has to deal with drivers; but there are advantages to post release performance tweaking.

lol wut? its made for resolutions such as 2560x1650 the 280gtx is made for resolution of 3000x2560.My P4 is .2 GHz away and my 360 RROD'ed yesterday...>.>
Well, time to learn a bit about overclocking or hope that they mean a virtual performance of 3.2 GHz or greater.
mmm
i have a Sparkle 7900gt 512mb(basically a 7900gtx)
1 gig ram
Amd athlon 64 3800+ x2
medium is possible?
papi_lekker
2GB RAM,,,,, then yes and I assure with better framerate than on consoles at 720p!

I only have a 8400 gt, but I want to try to get a 8800 gt. I don't know I would go about removing it and such, though.
I guess I'll just miss out.
