yeah the fatal frame series is probably the scariest out there. this has a lot of potential for some awesome motion controls too.

If the game has a fixed Camera and a polished engine, It could come surprisingly close to looking that good. However considering It's being developed by Grasshopper and not Capcoms main RE team I'm not holding out for it to do so.

I really cant remember what system i played the last one on, xbox or ps2, tbh if it looks as good as that one i'd buy it. I honestly dont get scared by games but that scared the hell out of me. I can see this being a must buy.

Yes but you can't deny that REmake looks really close to that level of visual fidelity. Even with full 3D environments a fixed camera could allow for a carefully manipulated LoD to achieve that level (look at what a fixed camera system did for the GoW franchise).

I never said the series was Capcom's, I was just trying to say that GHM doesn't have enough skill to do whilst Capcom quite obviously does (as evident from there GCN projects).

The FF games have always looked really nice and its visual style is nothing like REmake. FF has always gone for a gritty look during gameplay and it especially gets gritty with the old style video effect when you encounter a ghost. I don't want a clean RE look to this game. It's never had it and it shouldn't have it. Just take a look at those CG video images.

Oh, and I'm probably going to get this game as soon as it releases :).

No matter when 3rd party start pledging support, it still takes time to develop these games up to a certain quality; 2008 and 2009 should start shaping up really nicely.

Most definitely interested. One of the most scariest series ever created imo.

Btw, is there any news about a release date?

RE isn't gritty? What have I been smoking all this time . Anyway, Hopefully this game does look good, though past FF titles don't guarantee anything (though I'll have faith in GHM).

We have only seen grasshopper doing cel-shaded titles (i.e. Killer7 and NMH) But this game will be the first for them to make a different game without cel-shading so we won't know how it will look. Remember, Grasshopper knows how to make great wii controls after NMH.

Yes but the tech behind those cel shaded games were pretty poor. for a more realistic game like this, good tech is crucial. Whether or not GHM pull it of is still up in the air at this point I guess.

OMG I loved the previous Fatal Frame games and this one just looks :o no doubt it will be the best in the series due to the Wiimote. Fatal Frame is the type of game which is built for the Wii's unique controller.

Yes but Remember Grasshopper isn't the only one making this Game, Tecmo is also making it So Tecmo can handle the Technical side of the Game, and Grasshopper can handle the Story and Gameplay.

From the link:

Titled in Japan "Rei: Tsukihami no Kamen," the new Fatal Frame game is a major collaborative effort for Tecmo. Nintendo will publish the game and is also lending its support on the development end. Key staff members include Keisuke Kikuchi as producer and Makoto Shibata as director, both veterans of the series. But joining Shibata in the director's cubicle is Grasshopper Manufacturer's Goichi Suda (aka Suda 51), who recently completed work on No More Heroes.

The possibilities...
