I've used to love EB games. :( They had a bunch of PC games with a much bigger selection of non-used games. Now they're a GameStop lite without the special pre-order exclusive content deals (which I hate BTW, hope Koei doesn't start doing that.) :( GameSpot buying out EB Games is proof that good business and marketing > good service and quality of goods. IMHO of course

I like Gamestop. A lot of people online seem to HATE it, but I used to work at the one close to me and I shop there for my games all the time. I know the employees, they're like buddies, and they often give me free stuff just for being a regular. I like my local Gamestop, so I vote for Gamestop.

GameStop isn't as horrible as everyone makes it out to be. Sure, it's not the place you want to sell your games and used games are often cheaper on eBay, but a lot of times I've been very pleasantly surprised by a good deal I found their. Recently, I went on a quest to pick up a used copy of Ico. In December, a used copy of Ico sold on eBay for an average of $45 (http://www.videogamepricecharts.com/game/playstation-2/ico) before shipping and handling. This also includes games that don't come complete or ones that are sold as just a disc. With Gamestop it's $28 (http://www.gamestop.com/Catalog/ProductDetails.aspx?product_id=16438) and you can examine the game before buying it if you're someone who is nitpicky about manuals and cover art and stuff. Generally, Gamestop isn't great for sellers, but for buyers, I've been pleasantly surprised by them a few times.

I seem to get along quite nicely with the guys at my GameStop. I guess I'm lucky. Although I usually shop there out of convenience. I sometimes try to find better deals on ebay or amazon.

Amazon, NewEgg, & eBayshaggygrosser

This.

Though there is still a certain appeal to strolling into the Target electronics section to buy some games. Just have to resign yourself to paying more than you would online.

I hate game retailers, though. It's not that I've been ripped off by them, I just don't like being in them. I always go to supermarkets or general electronics stores because I want to be treated like a generic customer, not like a gamer.

Actually, Target is notorious for putting games on uber-clearance when they don't have any space left on the shelves for new titles. I saw Vegas2 for 30 bucks, when it was still supposed to be 50-60. Pretty good deal. Too bad I'm not a R6Vegas fan. :P

Yeah, now that I think about it, there have been instances where their games were pretty cheap. I remember getting Kingdom Hearts for $10 a few years back.

It's a love-hate relationship with EBgames/Gamestop. While they're almost guaranteed to have to latest release the fastest, their prices are rigid and their return policy is rubbish. I trade in games there occasionally, but only if they have a really good trade-in offer.

Not sure if this happens anywhere else but here in Vancouver they've been hiring abnormally large number of female employees, and I barely see any male employees around anymore. Now while they are the fairer sex, some of these girls are just not that interested in video games, and as a result the quality of the service really suffers. For example, my pre-order copy of Darksiders was the wrong version and I had to explain myself, and on top of that I didn't even get my pre-order bonus until I made another visit to the store a week later (already finished the game :().

My recent favourite place to buy all my games from is Bestbuy. Their policies are flexible, they reward buyers for making purchases at their stores, and you can pricematch anything with them even online deals. It's really great for someone like me who's really paranoid about shopping online.

Gamestop. The employees that work at the one I shop at are always nice and helpful. And they don't try to get you to buy stuff you don't want, even if you aren't a regular. And they're hilarious.

not that it is a pure gaming store i always have liked best buy more than other places for actually buying games. otherwise its always fun to stop into eb games or gamestop. also i buy them off of amazon sometimes they are cheaper and free shipping :)
