Lot of good games already mentioned, so I'll try to keep this to IPs that haven't been brought up yet (Though will shout out Crimson Skies too. Seriously Phil, how many handjobs do you need to greenlight a new one? Because I'll do it).
Resonance of Fate. Ever wonder why Sega sucks now? Look in the mirror, bitch. When they make cool stuff, you don't buy it. RoF is a steampunk jrpg with unique and hard to put into words battle system. But trust me, it's a lot of fun once you wrap your head around it. Just remember to keep your team moving. Attacks will stack and get way more cinematic if your character's paths cross.
Freelancer. Microsoft could win at trolling if they make a sequel to this before Star Citizen comes out. Same with EA and Wing Commander (Come'on guys. Motive showed they can make a good space combat game with SW Squadrons).
Heavy Metal: Geomatrix. Just dumb fun arena combat, and (sort of) based on Heavy Metal comics so there's big tiddys everywhere. Gamers are totally starving for those right now apparently. I do think Anarchy Reins was kind of a modern (for the time) update of the idea, but that needs a sequel too.
Going to lump Eternal Darkness, Geist, and Pandora's Tower together for this. Ever wonder why Nintendo doesn't publish M rated games? Look in the mirror, bitch. When they do, you don't buy them :)
