Modern Sci-Fi.
Owned? I like the way you die easily in modern shooters, but I want the cool gadgets in sci-fi shooters :|
[QUOTE="Snowboarder99"]And what category would TF2 go in cause that is my favorite:)Kirlok
modern i guess
Sci-Fi, it is science fiction after all. Events in TF2 are not really going to happen, and the technology is special.
I prefer sci-fi shooters over other shooters. By not being bound by many of the laws of realism, the player is given access to many abilities and weapons and enemies are no longer restricted to humans/humanoids which varies the gameplay greatly.
But then you get restricted to the what the creators can think of which is much more limiting in one sense... all of them actually. That is why historic shooters are the best.iusm78
Historic shooters are restricted to history though.
I loved this game so much. Historical shooters are definitely my favourite. I can never get enough of them. CoD4 got me bored pretty damn quick :(

What's TPS?
Third Person Shooter
OT: I like Sci Fi. Metroid Prime series.
Oh, ok then that doesn't count. We're talking shooters in here not action games.
I consider Gears of War pure shooter. Action game =/= third person shooter.
Wheter first or third person view, shooter is shooter. Rainbow Six vegas is 80% fps and 20% tps. But still a pure shooter. Modern one.

Shooter =/= game with gun.
For example: Gradius is a shooter.

Really is a great game. There are still a couple coming up that look good. I can't wait for Battlefield Heroes, and COD5 if it WWII(and hopefully taking place in the Pacific battles). There is also that Darkest of Days game that look interesting(through I think it a Sci Fi shooter. Not sure).
All of the above. It doesn't really matter that much as long as it is a good game. I wouldn't mind seeing a goof FPS western.do you prefer your shooter in modern times, sci-fi or historic

Half-Life,my favorite shooter of all time is Sci-Fi. Half-Life 2 is Sci-Fi. Crysis is Sci-Fi.
I'm gonna have to go with Sci-Fi. Although when it comes to multiplayer games,I prefer modern. (Couter-Strike,Battlefield 2)
Sci-Fi, espeically when the enemies are different sorts of aliens and mutants like in Blakestone and Doom

neither cod4s
Nukes? Attacking my America?
It's more likely that you think.
Sci-fi. It gets dull just fighting humans and using realistic weaponry.
Edit: But their are exceptions like GTA and Crackdown because they offer so much to do.
