Favorite year of gaming?

1998 was mine.

Metal Gear Solid, Starcraft, Half Life, Grim Fandango, Baldur's Gate, Tekken 3, Xenogears, Gran Turismo and Zelda:OOT...awesome year of gaming personally and several of these games really changed my expectations for gaming in general.

1997, FF7 was truly a masterpiece to me

and 2001 or whenever FF10 and Halo came out

and 2007, definitely, this year has been terrific, i am enjoying every bit of it. the best part too is that not onlly is the developers making great next gen and innovative games, but HALO 3 comes out, finally...!!!

1997, FF7 was truly a masterpiece to me

and 2001 or whenever FF10 and Halo came out

and 2007, definitely, this year has been terrific, i am enjoying every bit of it. the best part too is that not onlly is the developers making great next gen and innovative games, but HALO 3 comes out, finally...!!!

I believe that may have been 98. Haven't played FF7, so I can't confirm that. And 2006 is the best because of Kingdom Hearts II and Twilight Princess. Yes, I agree with EGM and its statistics.

1998. It was... Unreal is probably the best word to describe it.

Why 1998 was pwnful for me:

• Unreal
• Fallout 2
• Pokemon Red & Blue
• Baldur's Gate
• Ocarina of Time
• Metal Gear Solid
• Half-Life

Those were some seriously awesome games.

1999 comes in a very close second with classics such as Unreal Tournament, Sonic Adventure, Jet Force Gemini, Soul Calibur, and System Shock 2.

Rather me being misinformed, I should have added Zelda but it still stands that 1998 still would have been my favorite year even without it..

Almost the same list and year for me but add Re2,also so far 2007 has been awesome 360 wise.

I expected to see a lot of 1998's. What saddens me is the lack of Banjo Kazooie on anyone's list.

I don't know. Probably 2007, if it turns out the way I expect it, too.
