As long as it's a good game I really don't care that much about the premise. The only problem is that it's very difficult to have a video game that isn't a racing, puzzle, or simulation game without involving violence. The only game that's actually made any impact without involving violence is the Sims.
I can't remember if animal crossing had any violence but i enjoyed that game alot more than i expected.
Games that involve killing and violence should be banned or forced to be rated M. Anyway, most of my games that I buy don't involve violence. Games like LBP, Mario, and others continue to rule.Willy105
That's bad cause then games like NHL 10 would be rated M since it's got 1st person fist-fighting. Also, in Mario and Zelda, you kill monsters so your saying that should also be rated M??
Yeah Tetris but proper game? I dunno, I mean it's a game but Im talking about proper console games not things you can play on the go. Apart from racing all games show violence, yes even LBP shows hurting people is ok. Its crrazy, we need pure non violence proper games.Hmmmm....
Tetris for the PS1, THAT was a great game.

Almost all games and genres are based on some form of elinimation, whether it is violent or not. The games containing guns just happens to be the fastest and possibly most preferred way of elimination.
The only kind of games I can think of that don't evolve elimination are sports, racing, and puzzles (correct me if I'm wrong/missing something else). I guess Animal Crossing or Tetris would be my favorite non-violent game.
[QUOTE="Cherokee_Jack"]I would probably say some adventure game instead, but I can't remember which ones don't involve violence of some sort.mattbbplThat's actually kind of tough, and I used to love old school adventure games. What about Mixed Up Mother Goose? I only just remembered that existed...but probably. I'm thinking maybe Syberia, but it's been a long time since I've played that as well.
Harvest Moon!
The closest you'll get to violence is that you can catch fish and eat them.
Yout triggered a memory of Oregon Trail. I don't think that had any violence either, although you could die of dystentary. Didn't it have hunting in it?Well, there were many of the old-time pure adventure games from the PC era like Monkey Island (this is a good one--there was violence to an extent, but entirely nonlethal and usually slapstick in nature).
And if you don't mind limiting one's violence to caricatures, there's always the Lego games. No blood or guts, just bricks.
What about Guitar Hero, Portal, Dance Dance Revolution, Zach and Wiki, puzzle games, sports games, or racers of almost any kind?mattbbpl
There's the answer
Katamari Damacy.BrownesqueI think you're probably hurting people by rolling them up in a ball of garbage.
[QUOTE="Brownesque"]Katamari Damacy.Cherokee_JackI think you're probably hurting people by rolling them up in a ball of garbage. I wanna wad you up into my life, roll you up to be a single star in the sky.... Who doesn't want to be in a star?

I mena think of how painful being rolled and smashed around while being stuck to a ball would be?

You mean those gigantic boiling masses of plasma in a vaccum? So you're asking if I'd like to be crushed under a large pile of rubbish and then hurled into the fiery core of a sun?
Pass!

Awe someone beat me to it :(. Most of nintendos main games have violence in there. Mario, Zelda, Mertoid and even Animal Crossing. Yea I said animal crossing. I can beat people to the point where they leave my town or I can plant pitfall seeds and trap them. All violent acts.
EDIT: Hell even LBP has violence in them. You can slap each other and drag youself accross the screens.

Even fishing would be taboo.Games that involve killing and violence should be banned or forced to be rated M. Anyway, most of my games that I buy don't involve violence.
