Tough call. Maybe SMW, or possibly LoZ:MM or OoT. Starcraft is also a possibility considering I still ocassioally play it. *smacks forehead* how could I forget Grim Fandango and Curse of monkey island.
Really one game? From the greatest decade ever? Literally impossible for me to choose, but my picks would definitely be Pokemon Red and Blue, Super Metroid, Final Fantasy II(US), VII, VIII, Metal Gear Solid, Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time, Banjo Kazooie, StarCraft, and mmm Goldeneye.
EDIT: Not quite complete, but I narrowed it down as much as I humanly could.
Ocarina of Time and Metal Gear Solid are among my top 3 favorite games. The thrid being Halo Combat Evolved for the PC.

I really liked the game sue me. THat was when Bungie didnt F up the story and the single player was a blast.
and the PC version was the best because the online MP was so much fun. Death Island was one of the best Halo online maps and it has yet to see some kind of DLC form for Halo 2 or Halo 3. THats bull crap.
I loved other games like Deus Ex and Half Life. Just i really liked Halo Combat Evolved. COop with my buddies was so much fun. The missions were a blast. IT was a bit of a tribes knock off in some ways, but i didnt care cause it played great.
And i said top 3. OOT and MGS are from the 90s. Halo is from the 2000s

Final Fantasy 7, Castlevania: SotN, Vagrant Story, Final Fantasy Tactics. Resident Evil 2, Tekken 2, Jet Moto, Front Mission 3, Need for Speed 3, Goldeneye 007, and Metal Gear Solid just to name a few.
Right now, it's Star Control II: The Ur-Quan Masters, originally released in 1992 for IBM PC clones running DOS and perhaps around 1995 or 1996 on the 3DO. (It didn't go open-source and freeware until 2002, though-were it not for that, I probably still wouldn't have played it.) Before that, it was 1999's System Shock 2. It's still on my greatest games of all time list, but at a very close second.
