"And therein lies the rub. As much fun as F.E.A.R. is, it's never going to live up to the expectation cross-platform users have in their heads. Simply put, the PS3 doesn't hold a candle to the visuals found in the Xbox 360 version -- especially considering the handful of bugs that have dead soldiers getting stuck in walls and twitching on the floor. The detailed environments and clear draw distances aren't found on PS3. If you had never seen the other versions of F.E.A.R., you still wouldn't be impressed with the PS3's graphics, but compared to the PC and 360, this version is graphically dead in the water."
Ouch.

Yeah, those damn lazy developers can't figure out the extremely obscure and esoteric asymmetrical Cell. All they had to do was push back the release date another 6 months and put in three times the effort so that the game would look comparable to the Xbox 360.
i like how this is the same situation with fear and oblivion how there both a year old. and how oblivion looks alot better on ps3 and we couldent claim ownage on that according to lemmings but now lemmings can claim ownage on this? WOW and i tihnk they look equal on both. meanwhile other ps3 multiplats look better on ps3 like vt3, oblivion, fn3BTBAM127But theres a problem with your argument. In both cases the games had a lot more dev time. Oblivion being a year, and FEAR being like 6 months. So yes, they both should have looked better than there 360 counterparts. And only one lived up to the hype, and it barely did that.
I hate when people say "lazy devs". There has to be more to it than developers who don't feel like doing their job correctly.musicalmac
Developers aren't that enthusiastic on remaking a game that they already finished on other formats instead of making a new one. Maybe these devs wheren't that familiar with the ps3 structure aswell.
anyways im still not buying this game, 1 year has passed and all they added was a few new guns and levels. They could packed in the expansion aswell. This game is on the bargain bin for the pc and 360 but for the ps3 is on full retail price, sigh.Â

f.e.a.r wasnt, plus xbox360 version is upgraded from pc, better shaders/hdr/60 fps solid/some improved textures supposibly.

lol, dude they only took 6 months to develop f.e.a.r on 360.
even if f.e.a.r has been out 1 year dude, they didnt decide to port it to 360 untill they knew game sold well then they decided to cash in and port it to 360/ps3.

bleh, dude you dont even own xbox360, i own a highend pc and f.e.a.r and xbox360, i havent seen f.e.a.r on 360 full version yet to compare but i know you havent, they did improve the shader resolution, hdr x4 anti aliasing supposibly upgraded textures which i doubt because screenshots show downgrade. im not gonna believe it untill i see for myself.

Thats not the point the ps3 still gets another **** port, it being the devs fault doesnt make it any better..
oblivion showed PS3 can match up to 360 graphically so this would just a bad port because of devs not PS3Ragashahs
whoever is saying that the pc version of fear looks better on pc as compared to xbox360 is a liar. I've played both and it does look better on the xbox360. Take into account that you're probably playing the xbox version on a SDTV and playing the pc version on a monitor. There's your difference. Hook the 360 to that same monitor and see the difference.

The developers arent being lazy!!! Its the ps3 cell processor is hard to get to work smoothly,
there is also the fact that ps3 ram and 360 ram are very different ( YES THEY both have 512MB or ram, but the ram theys use for games is different, ps3 has 2 x 256MB and its os uses 72MB of ram, while 360 has unified 512MB and its os uses 32 ram. THe 360 does have more ram, and can support more HD textures.) {os is basically operating system, )
Belive or not the 360 GPU is suprerior, having unified 512MB ram, than the RSX, PS3 games will never look better than 360 games until the ps3 cell processor is unlocked, and used efficiently.
You can always hope they will make a game for the ps3 and 360 at the same time, and then they should look identical.
ps3 version lose
for one: loading time
move between chapter sections, the game will recap your upcoming objectives and load the next part of the mission. In the beginning, you start to think the load times are a bit too long, but they only get worse and most rank somewhere between thirty seconds and a minute. Granted, you won't have to worry about a load until the next section of the game, but the creeping load bar is going to upset folks who remember playing and loading F.E.A.R. seamlessly on the PC and the Xbox 360.
two: graphics downgrade (like many other multi platform games ,like COD3, sc double agent......)
Awesomeness aside, it's not all sunshine and skulls on the F.E.A.R. disc. Although they're by no means ugly, nothing about the game's visuals scream next-gen. The textures on walls and even your character's hands are muddy, the cutscenes are filled with bland, rigid characters and at times the office buildings your running through seem downright empty. Even the well-done rooms fail to impress. On the search for stray troopers and vicious machine gun-toting robots, you'll enter a dark, condemned apartment and throw on your flashlight, but as the circle of light passes over filthy armchairs and abandoned tables, new shadows aren't created. The flashlight isn't creating light; someone's just turning up the brightness in a circle on the screen
Yep lazy developers they are just so lazy.
Danm lazy Devs just don't want to have to spend twice as much to make the Ps3 version at least on par with the 360.

all they had to do was spend another hour working on it every night for a couple of weeks, boo hoo
"PS3 is hard to work with!"     That is BS, they should have grown some cojones and risen meet the challenge.

yet that graphical effect is totally possible on the PS3. we've seen shadows cast by flashlight and torchlight in Resistance:FOM and Oblivion. I think that is enough to warrent the blame on part of the devs

so are we all to assume that they did the best they could, when I see games that have better graphics and are polished that do provide graphical effects that are absent in FEAR?

So true.. Besides after the 360 patch update the difference is even slimmer(oblivion). The same with Fight Night. It was in development before the 360 version, yet some things on the 360 version were better. Both consoles have their strengths and weaknesses but cows need to stop hyping the ps3 to be the supreme console that Sony led them to belive. Yes overall PS3 is more powerful, but its not nearly as big as Sony want you to believe.

No, you're right, it's just that the PS3 is that inferior. Every other multiplat looks as good or almost as good to the point that its negligible, but FEAR looks worse because the PS3 just can't handle what the 360 throws down.
GIVE ME A ****ING BREAK. Fanboys are a disease. Â
It doesn't matter whose fault it is.
The crux of the matter is that since there are other significantly superior versions out there, there's no reason to consider the PS3 version... unless you don't have a 360 or a decent gaming PC.
At worst, Sony shouldn't expect to make much money from PS3 FEAR software sales.
The simple fact is that no team is going to spend time on a finished game for an install base like the PS3 has right now. Releasing shoddy ports a year later is just a way to continue milking money out of an old game. Why spend any resources making it good when a bunch of uninformed people will buy it anyway, and really what did it cost you to make it.
You fanboys are unbelievable. Â
