Ever feel like there's an awesome game out there in the wilds of discs and cartridges? I sure do.

I made a thread about Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, an excellent fighting game with a WRYYYY fad going around, and only got 2 responses.

http://www.gamespot.com/ps/action/jojosbizarreadventure/

This Xbox game came to light when I was trying to search for where the Nectaris crew went to (Military Madness). Nectaris was great and was a pretty strategic turn-based game. It makes Advanced Wars look like child's play. But Dai Senryaku VII is a completely revamped version of what looks like Nectaris. It plays just like it with the base taking, hexagon movement, units, but with so much more units and terrain and extra tidbits to add to the strategic attack probability.

http://www.gamespot.com/xbox/strategy/daisenryaku7

I had talked about this a while ago. Obviously to show that the Wii isn't innovative in terms of cooking games. The real innovative use of the dual shock to mimic cooking actions while having great gameplay to go along with it, this game is definitely under the radar but mostly because it's an import game. Hope Sony gets back to trying to make a game like it again.

http://www.gamespot.com/ps/strategy/orenoryori/

I'm not so sure this is so under the radar... since all of you probably downloaded it. I might be one of the few people on here that actually has the original Neo Geo with 30 odd so games with it. But Nam-1975 had that.... I forgot that old arcade game... it had the same kind of shooter where you dodge bullets yet move your crosshair to shoot. It was definitely one of the best games on Neo Geo.

http://www.gamespot.com/neo/action/nam1975/

And I would label a bunch of PC Engine games but most of them are coming on retro downloads. Like Dungeon Explorer and Moto Roader were so much fun back in the days of NES. It's mind boggling how such great multiplayer games weren't even heard about when people were playing Mario. Hope you try these PC Engine games but since VC doesn't offer online support for Dungeon Explorer and Moto Roader, it might be hard to get into. Hopefully XBLA will let Dungeon Explorer be multiplayable online.

If that game is under the radar, I feel sorry for the majority.  Though Kojima's games should be very popular.

And no I didn't collect the toys... Guardian reminds me of something... a Sega Saturn game...

Guardian Heroes!  That was a good game.

I've got one, it's not even listed on here. Though I don't normally support emulation, I'd recommend you download it in this case, as there's no way it'll ever be released here, or that you'll track down a copy. Plus AGTP did a translation for it, so the downloadable version's suprior anyway.

Hiouden: Legend of the Scarlet King. A Japan-only SNES RPG/RTS cross-genre game. Weird though it sounds, it actually works somehow. Though kinda clunky at times (try getting your 36-strong army through a narrow hallway), it plays well, looks great for its time and console, and has some awesome music (I have the ending theme as my ringtone). What I love is the story though, how many early console games can you genuinely claim are (good) tragedies without the emo crud made popular by JRPGs?

It's also made by Wolf Team, the same guys who would go on to make Tales of Phantasia. Highly recommended.

Sadly, both ZOE's are "under the radar".  I have a demo of the first, which i still love to this day, but i wasn't to afford either when they came out, and i never bothered to pick them up.  Now i can't find them except on ebay. :(

Well in more recent terms I feel like there are very few who have played Earth Defense Force 2017 out there on the Xbox 360.  Its outrageously fun in split-screen co-op, so much so that it was the driving force for a friend of mine to finally buy a 360 Elite.

I envy you. Don't think it was even released here. An ebay search turned up 1 PAL copy, but it's about AU $145, pre-owned, and I'd have to import it from the UK anyway. Blargh. :(

I played The Thing, but not freedom fighters. I also liked Rally Trophey which I don't think many played. It was great with a wheel and the stages were upto 15 minutes long instead of 3-5 mins like other rally games are.

Freedom Fighters was a great TPS. It had a good AI not your enemy but your comrades. The only downside of Freedom fighters was that its too short. you can finish it in just one day with 10 hours or so.

Killer 7(I know people here have played it but not enough of you)

Bad Mojo(a bizzare PC game)

Haunting Ground(Survival-Horror game for PS2)

Kid Chameleon(old Genesis game)

Siren(another survival-horror for the PS2,screw the low-rating that gamespot gave it,it is a damn good game even with it's flaw's)

Eternal Darkness(a remarkable survival-horror for the Gamecube,it will leave an impression on you like no other survival-horrorhas before)

That's all I can think of right now,I'll name some more in a little while.

Cave Story

Pangster007

A black wind blows through you. All your weapons dropped to level 1!

Anyone agree that a co-op version of Cave Story would be freaking awesome?

For anyone who hasn't played it, it's freeware, and has a sort of Super Metroid feel to it (minus the polish and open-endedness, of course). Very highly recommended download. Get the translation and a link to the download site from here:

That and Deus Ex are my top two games ever. They are the only games where I lost myself in the world. Everyone should play both these games. It kinda sucks that companies like Ion Storm go bust but we still have people like EA around. Admitedly, Ion Storm made some mistakes (Daikatana anyone?) but at least they took risks.
